Crochambeau always on the ball with the schematic. I love that! I might consider starting out real simple and just remove C36 (100pf hi- pass cap on the clean channel's volume control). That may warm things up enough for added dirt boxes. I would ditch the 0.22 cap at the input as well just because it is silly and restrictive but I would start with the C36 and just see how that sounds first..
