Looks like a good introduction to modular for people who are not super knowledgeable about this (yet). I'm not a fan of pre-patched connections but it makes total sense for them in that case as otherwise most people would be overwhelmed at first. And having a nice sequencer in there is a good thing. The price is not bad at all, when you consider all that. Still, not for me now but I would probably have been super interested a few years ago.
Does anyone know if the filter can be used as a sine osc and tracks 1V/oct ?

Maybe you can undo the internal patching? I hope so.

The patch panel will defeat normalizations most likely

Yeah patching defeats normalization. With that in mind, this is a great way into modular. You get a ratcheting 32 step sequencer that has memory for 64 patterns, little keyboard, 2 mixers, LFO, envelope, Osc, vca, midi>CV, MOOG Lowpass filter and it does high pass too, plus a powered case. So the functionality of 10 modules plus powered case for $599...pretty badass.
Another cool thing is that Moog is releasing some low priced boats that look decent. I could see getting another boat the same size and and using the mounting kit and having a sweet portable rig with some really different modules in the top boat..

Yeah, I was looking at the and planning. How big are they though?

60HP and apparently a 104HP one too. Depending on the depth the 104HP one could interest me...
Unpowered apparently, so you'd need something to power them but there are decent options from 4MS, Synthrotek, TopTop, etc. already.

If I got one of these, it'd have to be 2 or 3 tiered. Especially after listening to the demos. It seems like that's where it shines the most.

Getting one of these makes sense. Getting several, I don't know. At this point you'd be much better served with other modules to complement it...

I'm resisting the urge to get two of these. Having two would give me a reliable and portable two voice synth for potential gigs with lots of tweakability PLUS I can use CV stuff to and from my Sub 37 to create essentially a four voice Moog in the studio.
I love the size and the functionality, and Moog is probably my most trusted company.
With the Voyager being discontinued, this opens up a big window for me into buying these for a killer price.
I'm feeling a new live setup incorporating some Elektron gear too... boy do I need to resist the urge to buy everything at once.
