They're not the only ones guilty of this; Eminence and Celestion are pretty much the only manufacturers who bother measuring sensitivity, frequency response, etc.

Even with that information you're still gambling because you don't know how it'll sound with your amp and whether you'll like it or not, but I can't imagine the complete lack of information is helping sales.

When I was 19, I'm sure a doomy graphic on the magnet label and a sales pitch mensioning "deep low end" and "raw fuzzy goodness" was all it took for me to pull out my wallet.

I bought the sales pitch but the cab being built for me is specifically for baritone so I figured I'd give it a shot. If they don't work out I can sell them on reverb or maybe send them back to Weber.

I have faith though.

Weber makes solid stuff, I don't care about the doom marketing gimmick.

But in pseudo-Jensen-land, I've liked the ones I've heard in Fender amps.

Their attenuators are decent for what they are as well, and not badly priced.

Oh yeah, for sure...

Weber is ligit, and at that price it's hard to not consider em, dispite the mimmicky marketing. I just wish there were more technical details and specs. Might be just me, but the silly sales pitch is almost ALL I can find

I'm not into the doom gimmick (put dr demento on em and I'll be interested marketing-wise ) but I finally tried the grey wolf speakers.

I have a 2x12 beta lead that I got barely used from the og owner with stock speakers that I always felt was too dark, muddy, and kinda bad sounding with any amp based gain. Changed the speakers on a whim to the webers. They sound great! Really clear, brighter, more defined low end (more sonant but doesn't quite rshake the house the same), and clear mids...

This is the first time I have ever used mids on the amp because it always sounded terrible with the stock speakers. it has also made the volume control less touchy. Really impressed.

The only other fancy/not stock speakers I have had were some vintage "spec" g12 greenback celestions I think (10 years ago)...I thought those were too muddy and kind crap(no real chime or clarity ). These blow those out of the water.

I don't know how much that means to all you people with more speaker experience, but they work for me and I'm glad I traded a pedal and caught the sale. I will probably do my 4x12 with weber once the Sovtek works again.

I don't know how they Doom or extreme metal, but they work for me doing whatever I do that day. Beta lead stock speakers suck.
