Sorry for hijacking the shit out of this thread but I listened to Endless Summer 4 times in a row today at work. Man that was great. Shame it wasn't on Spotify. Had to YouTube it up. But wow. So good.

Yeah it's definitely one of those records that puts the gauntlet down and says "no fuck you this is already done about as well as it can be good luck trying to top it".

Great jamz.

Wait, no Melt Banana?

But Squarepusher is one of the best. Kid606 sometimes too...used to take scratched CDs and play that? Operation Reinformation (REVO) [sometimes glitchier than others]?

I say it every time it comes up but that Kid606 album title + art is one of my favorite things ever.

He played that PerfectCircuitAudio grand opening I went to for free...but it was hot and my wife got sick of me saying things likes "Hey that's Autopilot/Adam's pedals! He's cool!" and "Look that's Aen pedals! He's cool too". Yea, so we left. haha.

Hijack!

I really only know Kid606 through SAFSA since it came out on Important and I'm a total drooling fanboi for everything that label puts out, but I really want to dive into more. Album recs?

Kid606 was releasing like multiple albums per year at some point...I really don't have a clue. I remember him from way back when ORI/REVO was still a band and they were both on Vinyl Communications (which has been gone for a long time I think). I can't even find the old albums on youtube (I'm going to have to go dig through my old cd-inserts to find names). I just remember one album that had a robot hand shaking hands...there was another dude doing similar stuff on that label too http://www.discogs.com/label/637-Vinyl-Communications....forgot how much cool stuff is on that label! Dang! I believe that is where I found Merzbow and stuff back in the 1990s... :idk:

Omnibot was another one...but yea, can't find much on the youtube from back in the day. The videos below may be Omnibot (sure sounds like it//either way cool stuff):

I'm excited to listen to these album suggestions when I have time. I haven't heard of a lot of these artists.

Is there a spotify playlist anyone's made that I can check out?

If you can find any of this old group's stuff (from Taiwan...though I swore they claimed to be out of Korea years ago) they were called KusoJ Technik Klub...some of it is pretty good too: https://archive.org/details/kusoj (some is actually up there)

Some of the stuff on 8bitpeoples was glitchy too...but their site may or may not be hacked...

maybe some stuff at mp3death http://mp3death.com

8cylinder is a great sometimes too http://rhinoplex.org/8cylinder/

That's exactly how I feel about Autechre's Amber. The song "Teartear" has been stuck in my head for about 15 years.

Yeah, that about sums it up. Wonderful album, one of the few things I never get tired of. Loved this album to death when it was released, still love it now.

How much of this glitch do you mind crossing into noise though? Ryoji Ikeda Supercodex comes to mind then, that literally sounds like long computer glitches.
