As discussed in the neverending Refused thread, I like Blood Brothers, but never got into them, something you found completely shocking at the time. I own Burn, Piano Island, Burn and love it. You know what, given my recent conversion to Minutemen-ianity, I'm feeling open-minded. Will digest entire discog and get back to you.

As for Glassjaw, what more is there to say? I love them. Worship & Tribute is one of my favourite albums in any genre. Heavy but dynamic and the vocals are unlike any other vocals (must be the Crohn's disease?). "Two Tabs Of Mescaline" will always, always be my jam. I keep up with their recent shit too. I like Coloring Book a lot. Short answer: Glassjaw is love. Glassjaw is life LOL

UGH I HATE and love YOU

Also, Justin Beck, no one ever talks about Justin Beck, but I gotta say, he gave me GAS for the H&K TriAmp

I know ;)

With the Blood Brothers, I prefer Piano Island onward. Their older stuff is great for nostalgic purposes but the later stuff was just better.

As far as side projects go, Past Lives and Head Wound City are awesome, Neon Blonde is pretty good, and Jaguar Love was a resounding MEH.

Cool. I see you like the later stuff in all "these" bands. Me too!
(My only exception is that I like Deja better than Devil & God but anyway)

Oooooh I forgot about this Glassjaw song, heavy as fuck, like... they went full nĂ¼-metal LOL

I feel like the bands from that era that I still listen to are the ones that grew the same way I did. The ones that adapted to my tastes instead of being stuck in 2002 forever.

It's really a shame that Dustin had to go all culty and join Mars Hill.

GlassJaw is my shit. Saw them live with Thursday way back in the day.

Blood Brothers, while I've owned 1 or 2 of their LPs I could never get into them too much. It was always a novelty play for me.

It's fundamentally not. Introductory aggressive music for teens.

I'd rather commit suicide than be forced to listen to any of these bands, fuck this music is terrible.

When I was a teenager it was hardcore without the punk and a lot more metal. Including 'bigger' sounding production and shit and no chance of ever getting covered in MRR. No idea what the stuff other people are posting in this thread is.
