Re: Mr. Black Ambience
I have a lot of respect for mr. blacks work especially knowing how involved it is getting really unique sounding reverbs using the fv1. I think he likes keeping things uniform and limiting the controls to what matters.

Re: Mr. Black Ambience
i have never tried any of his stuff. I would welcome the opportunity but don't think I would bite the bullet either. He seems like a cool guy though.

Re: Mr. Black Ambience
Thanks for noting my products and designs.
To concisely address questions:
Taps are at 5/8 and 8/8 independently modulated and weighted. I think this is a very musical relationship.
Reverb is also modulated independently.
The Black LTD. Ambience was VERY popular and sold out quickly.
Code for $139.95 preorder is: PREORDER.
I like things simple.
Pre-orders close Thursday and we begin shipping Tuesday September 29, 2015.
Let me know if you have any other questions and I hope this info is found useful and relevant.
Peace, love and hair grease.

So how do you dial in the setting for the three(?) different tonez, Grixy? Having a bit of a hard time discerning which knobs do what from the trailer.

Re: Mr. Black Ambience
From the manual
LEVEL: Ambience level
Full CCW: Flat
Full CW: Dreamy, ethereal bliss
DECAY: Regeneration/Reverb blend
Full CCW: One echo, no reverb
Full CW: Drift away…
SPAN: Distance between echo taps
Full CCW: Short.
Full CW: Long.
BYPASS SWITCH: Toggles on/off
LED on: Clouds
LED off: No clouds.
You should know, the Decay control is really two controls rolled into one knob and simultaneously adjusts the number of echo repeats and how much reverb the repeats have on them. Sound tricky? It’s really easy. And it sounds heavenly.

Re: Mr. Black Ambience
Yeah the art of Mr Black seems to be equally in the tones and getting them easily and intuitively available. I'm shocked at how different and delicious tones come out of a relatively simple 3 knob pedal.

Yeah I think this could be a cool thing I was ever cramped for board space or something.

Yeah, there are three kinds of pedals that I think are absolutely rad.PeteeBee wrote:Yeah the art of Mr Black seems to be equally in the tones and getting them easily and intuitively available. I'm shocked at how different and delicious tones come out of a relatively simple 3 knob pedal.
1) The pedals that give so much possibility and you end up being able to tweak and tweak and still find new sounds.
2) The pedals that do something completely original or make a sound you've never heard before.
3) A pedal that just nails it's tone, and makes it nearly impossible to get a bad sound out of it. All knobs are essentially fine tunings of already dialed in perfection.
This thing falls into that 3rd category. It knows exactly what it wants to be. Cloudy dreamy ambience. It nails that sound no matter where you turn the knobs, just different flavors of that. Well done Jack Deville!

Re: Mr. Black Ambience
I just think of it like a wash pedal, and if I want 'more' of any attribute I just turn that knob up. It sits really well after some dirt too...D.o.S. wrote:So how do you dial in the setting for the three(?) different tonez, Grixy?
