This is what's in heavy rotation right now:

BLONDE REDHEAD - 23
LADYTRON - Velocifero
SILVERSUN PICKUPS - Swoon
YEAH YEAH YEAHS - It's Blitz
SCHOOL OF SEVEN BELLS - Alpinisms
MASTODON - Crack The Skye

At night I've been listening to:

BAT FOR LASHES - Two Suns
JONI MITCHELL - The Hissing Of Summer Lawns
MICHAEL HEDGES - Aerial Boundries
PAUL SIMON - One Trick Pony

They all inspire me in one way or another.

Uhm...

Nels Cline

After seeing Bon Iver on Saturday it changed everything. He had taken his album and completely turned it upside down for his live act. This isn't the best example of what I saw but:

And last but not least the stuff I have listened to the most lately is Dub. The way it was recorded back in the 60's and 70's just blows me away, so genius! What also blows me away is how they filled their music up with so many layers but still left so much space:

Bardo Pond and all of the Gibbons' side projects: Alasehir and Hash Jar Tempo, mainly. Also stuff like Pharaoh Overlord and SubArachnoid Space too. But I just love the subtle fuzz manipulation rhythm jams right now.

I'm writting stuff that's dancey, surfy, sexy, and gritty. Like a mix of NEWER Arctic Monkeys (think Teddy Picker, Brianstorm etc. its a lot different from their older stuff like I bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor, which I despise, I don't ever even bother with the first album), Klaxons, The Kills, and Bloc Party (newer more electronic stuff)

These guys cover so many bases for me, from the early thrashy/shreddy stuff to the slower ambient/electronic/folky stuff.
