Oh. I was on the hunt for one of these forever! I know that it has a lot in common with the classic KORG monophonic synthesizer MS-20. I have one of the new incarnations (MS-20 mini) and its External Signal Processor can detect the pitch of incoming signals and convert it to voltages so that the oscillators play in the tune of the input signal. That's the theory. In fact it doesn't work with bass guitar at all and with guitar in the highest octaves only. I hoped that the X-911 had improved tracking and the demos I've heard/seen sounded/looked very promising. Hng.

It has been about 15 years since I owned it, but as I recall, it couldn't do 2 finger power chords or anything like that. I mostly just got glitch/funk sounds out of it. I thought I was going to get some kinda robert fripp synthy vibe... alas, that old tech just can't track especially compared to what is out there now.

Well it could be that it's because the X-911 is a monophonic synth and like an octaver it's just logical that it cannot handle sounds of two strings at once.

Sounds like there's still hope for me. If it tracks half as good as the pedal in my avatar, I will love it to pieces.

It's crazy that the Schumann PLL has gotten so expensive...

Well, I guess not that crazy. I remember when I was in BK and practically lived at Main Drag, they were $500 even then, plus like a seemingly infinite wait list.

Still have my Lion... need to dust it off.
