Here's the two I made. Guitar has a Fender Texas Special in the bridge that was in my 1951 Pawnshop. Sounds awesome in this, was too muddy in the neck of the Fender. The one string bass has a parts bin tele neck pickup. If you make a two stringer, put tuners on it so you get a chugger. You'll have a blast with it.

I think any of the decent modeling amps would work 'well' for slide, I tend to like the Vox ones more than Roland I guess, but anything with decent eq, amp models, and fx would work. It's just most of the youtube videos I've seen the guys always go "and I'm just playing through a little Roland Cube". Roland should be throwing some $ to Seasick Steve. I just want it to sound fvkt up.

And that's where this comes in. It's a three channel mixer-boombox. Instrument in, 1/4 mic channel has 'echo', and there's an aux to plug an iPod into that you could plug anything up to a stereo mixer into. Seperate volumes for each, and a master volume. Can't ask for much more for $8. I didn't realise Hannah Montana was a Pussy Galore fan, but this boombox sure sounds like it.

You just take the s off of the https: at the start. So the link would be: Just wrap that in the youtube tag and you'll be good. I like how it sounds. Gnarly af.

Goddamn, that three stringer is awesome! Can I get a demo of those going into the Hannah Montana? I need to hear that.

Honestly, if I ever get around to building a CBG/diddly bow, I'll just run it thru my Peavey Transtube practice amp. That amp sounds nice, and sounds great with fuzz. Should be good for some CBG jamming.

It's mostly the Delta Grooves neck. Crazy quality for a $75 neck. Blood wood board, that cool reverse firebird headstock. DD is a super nice guy too. The box is from Undercrown cigars, snagged one smaller one too. I made a demo w/ the Hannah / Meathead / 3 stringer, going to take an hour to upload w/ my shitty internet service.

Thanks! Not too bad to build... Three stringer took a day, but I built it in my apt with limited tools. Sawdust er'where.

And in the "not amazing" camp, here's the Hannah Montana boombox-amp gear test. Sorry it's short and kinda lethargic, I've got a fugly flu today. Now that I know how easy this stuff is, I can do a better one tomorrow. It gets more lo-fi 'clean' if I'd have rolled down volume more than I did...

Looks like someone might be building themselves an electric tenor guitar after their Jaguar is finally done with mods...

The CBG + Hannah Montana sounds cool. Not sure if it's just my laptop or how it was recorded, but I like the springy sound that the echo seems to have in certain positions.

Richard Johnston is pretty awesome all 'round.

Asie Payton, Robert Cage, Junior Kimbrough (and the Soul Blues Boys), Juke Joint Pimps, Revernd Beat Man, Ben Prestage, Oblivians are a few more I dig. Hollowbelly has a lot of videos on youtube.

The echo on that thing is sweet. With a lo fi mic I can pretty much get any stage of Jon Spencer's career voice echo.

They are fun to build and play. My next one with a Delta Grooves neck is going to be a mini three string solid body Mosrite copy with an old Japanese gold foil pickup I have in my parts bin. Going to glue body 'wings' on the neck. Already have them cut out. Going to be a cool project, the Micramone!

Sounds pretty good to me! :)*

Not blues, but definitely in the spirit of this thread (he usually plays country), here's my friend Eric. He built his "guitar machine" and lap steel himself:

Thanks for the recommendations! This thread is the most inspiring one I've read in ages.

New fun stuff. Imp Hand; my new acoustic 3 stringer...

Image

Headstock and soundhole closeups...

Freaking awesome sounding speaker box I built using a big cigar box and @ 6 inch speakers; free Epiphone speaker, thrift store Audiovox speaker. This plus a 15 watt tube amp, BATW Black Forest and my three stringer is fuzzbomb to lo fi blues bliss.

Image

The other Audiovox speaker in a medium-large mostly square cigar box. Back lifts up or out.

Image

And while it looks like Bender's Fleshlight, it's really a super sweet tin can microphone.
