I read this thread and then realized I've become much more of a 'good amps>good pedals' person than I thought.

Good amps make bad pedals sound better. Sort of like musical social services.

Having said that, a nice fat Ge fuzz into a sweet vocal wah into an Echoplex. I suppose you could mount them on a board if you wanted to.

Lately I've been thinking that my perfect pedalboard would be a small one... like 5-6 pedals max.

No fucking idea how to get a perfect board that small, but it'd be so glorious to have it be intentional but flexible, easy to carry and minimal setup voodoo.

UGH.

The only reason I'm not rocking a small board with 6 peds, is that I can't restrain myself, and refuse to make tough decisions :idk:

It'd make a lot of sense for me though. Cheaper, easier to carry around and to power, less patch cables or other stuff that can break, etc...

My perfect pedal board would have a giant swimming pool built into it and you'd have to stick your feet into scuba flippers to bypass the pedals. The pool would have a big amp at the bottom of it and you could just stand there on the edge of the pool playing and tripping out to the sound waves in the water.

Yeah I can't restrain myself either, but whenever I get my pedalboard all loaded up with a large amount of pedals, I always think "this is ridiculous."

Trying to narrow it down to 1 OD > 1, maybe 2 fuzzes (could possibly get rid of OD if so), Warped Vinyl MKII, Delay (haven't decided, but prob Dispatch Master, as it'd allow for delay and/or enormous verb, so kind of a cheat), Super Spring Theory, Boss TR-2.

I'd also like to have one weirdo pedal on there, like a Count to 5. But fuck, that's already at 7. So maybe 8 including a tuner is as low as I can go without getting bored... but see, I still wanna try to go lower. Feel like it'd make me a better player.

So yep, my perfect pedalboard is one I don't have to rely on as much, but I don't know how to get there. The Mobius strip of GAS woes.

I kinda feel like I have everything I need to put this together,
I did the megaboard thing about 3 years ago, about 25 pedals bunches of options for in and out, all that
It was fun,
I guess from what I own now I would do
Tone Reaper-Pitchfactor-Dirge Comp-Groove Regulator-RV5-Pharaoh-Dirty bomb-Jero Feedback loop he built me (Running my whole -2 board up on a stand) -EchoBox-DBA IOD-Dirge Delay-Source Poly Filter-Volume-Supernatural-Echolution2-Timebender- Slicer Some type of Stereo looper maybe my NS2 because this is now looking stupid loud

I think all I really would have to buy is a good stereo looper and I want the echolution preset switch
A third verb may be cool (I have the behringer so I could use that)

perfect board for me would have to contain all of this, be completely plug and play friendly (Minus the boss board as a feedback monster thing)
Travel well and If we are sharing hopes and dreams be water and spill proof with the cover on,

Hm. My board hasn't really changed in 8+ months which shatters the old record. Took 3 years of trading in/up to get here:
'66 Fuzzrite > Harmonic Percolator > phase-O-matic deluxe > '94 Deja Vibe > Resonator > '78 DMM > '82 PolyFlange > LoFi Loop Junky

But I feel like my *perfect* pedal board should have a Paradox TZF, Tonebender Pro mk II, and another HP-1 on it.

My ideal board is *almost there*. After years of playing with various devices, I've come to this configuration as the ideal setup: (not particularly in order)

FX Loop:
Eventide ModFactor
Eventide TimeFactor
Eventide PitchFactor
Eventide Space
Red Panda Particle
MTLASM Count to Five

Guitar to Amp:
Pigtronix Gatekeeper
Pigtronix Philosopher King
Spaceman WOW Signal
Zvex Fuzz Factory 7

...and I'm deciding whether I want to include a POG2 and Super Seek Wah... or with everything else it would be overlap. Still don't know what I want to do about a looper, it would be a 'nice to have' but not necessarily a necessity.

I definitely relate to the "5-6 pedals" ideal.

I'm moving away from harsh noise right now in my playing... so I can probably pull it off.

Ideally I'd like to be able to fit everything onto a PTJR... with a separate noise board as the need arises.

I MIGHT be able to get away with:

Tuner
OD
Fuzz
Feedback Loop (for separate board)
Delay
Delay

I feel like I COULD pull that off... now if only I had the courage to do it.

That is one crazy expensive board. :wha?:
