Remove the chinos. Enjoy fuzz. If chilly, put on other pants.

Maybe what was so exciting about it before, is that it was so unique/different? Now you have had just about every flavour, have settled in on the one you like; and now you're just used to it? Has your playing style changed any?
I love the sound of fuzz - when OTHER people use it. I can't get on with it though. It doesn't really suit the racket that I usually make. It didn't suit my band, either. The closest I got to a useable fuzz, is the Mini with the bias all the way off, volume dimed and the gain around 10/11:00.

Maybe you just need a break? Maybe you should break your board apart? If you're not showing up at rehearsals every week, and need certain things - do it! Have fun with OD/Distortion and modulation. That's where my head's been at lately, too. Modulation + broken sounds

When I'm did-dawdling along by myself I only use fuzz when I'm stacking loops. You reach a point of reverb soaked, throbbing modulation where you need something filthy to cut through.

How are you running your fuzzes? Sometimes I think people run them with the gain up high all the time, which is great and all. But there are some great sounds to be found backing the gain down. Especially on bass. You can get some awesome crunchy overdrive sounds. And you can play with some different dynamic shifts by digging into the strings a bit.

I read an article lately about how low testosterone is an ever increasing problem. Maybe eat some red meat and fuck something and see how you feel?

I found, as I'm sure plenty of people do from time to time, that I had way too much shit on my board, including fuzzes. I'll always like fuzz, but sometimes I don't see the point of having several on my board at any given moment... why not just challenge myself to use one and see what I can get out of it? I feel like I'm forced to make more creative and skillful decisions that way, as opposed to just hoping that having a bunch of options will do the work for me.

I also think a lot of us try to set up our board as though it's the way it's gonna (and has to) be for like... A YEAR or something dumb like that. Keep one fuzz on there and swap it out frequently. I just recently took all of the pedals off of my Blackbird 30x15 and put half of the amount back on (I think I have 7 on there now). It's fun as hell not having to worry about if they'll all fit or if I'll have enough power.

So anyway, that's a bit of a tangent, but my whole point was that you don't have to commit to anything. If you like something today, doesn't mean you have to feel the same way about it tomorrow, and vice versa.

The ebb and flow of exploring sounds and textures. You will want to fuck stuff up again soon. No worries.

I definitely went through a phase where I got bored with fuzz about two years ago, and it lasted about a year. I had a fuzz on my gigging board that I needed for a handful of the covers we play, but I kinda lost fuzz-boner that I used to get when I clicked it on. Then I got a custom Algal Bloom from Tom last May that I won from the ILF fantasy football league, and I kinda rediscovered my fuzz love all over again. Now the Algal is my primary fuzz and I use my amp for all other dirt.

Now I've reached the point where pedal overdrive bores me and I'm toying with selling off my Elements.

No seriously though! I hate my Nine of Swords Burial at Sea and almost exclusively use my OCD for all gain.

It's been like this for two months plus.

I feel your pain. But at some point I just became an OCD person.

I have always played distortion or fuzz-free most of the time.

They're always available if I need them. Some days I really need them, some days I don't.

Can't be balls to the walls fulltime unless you're Lemmy.
