Re: Want to venture into new amp territory.
Which Marshalls are those? Jimi Hendrix used fuzz into a Marshall and he got some great tones.scienceman wrote:The problem is that all the British amps I've tried (some vox and marshals) don't work with fuzz. So is there any amps that cut and also sound good with fuzz pedals?
I rock a 100w Marshall Valvestate and crank the fuzz through it no worries. I guess it depends on the fuzz and what type of music you play. But those amps can get great sounds out of it if you set the gain and eq right. I also have a Fender HRD which I love also, but surprisingly I dig the cheaper Valvestate more
Would love to upgrade to a JCM800 if I had the cash.

Dude, Hendrix rocked a Marshall Super Lead 100 1959. The JCM800 replaced the Super Lead in the Marshall lineup. BTW, in the studio, Hendrix played Fender Dual Showman's. The Silverface ones in '68. The ones you can still find on the *bay for cheap....
IIRC, the 'Hendrix' setting on the Super Lead is 'everything maxed'.
