If bobby goes a hair under $1500 you need to buy that nelson.
That being said, when there isn't a good deal on a nelson on the line, the answer is 100% gretsch. Always. They are so gnarly and flawless and you can get stupid good deals on a used one if you shop around. Guitar center used site practically throws them at you.
Matter of fact...there are several jets on there right now for under 2k

So basically....if you don't buy one of these or the nelson then fuck you.

Gibsons are fine. Don't buy new. Ever. Unless its a ridiculous blowout or ha some features that you can't find on any other model used (like 27" scale length, oversized body).
