When are the threads about ZVexes SHO being indicative of rape culture and Wounded Paw's brand name tolerant of animal abuse coming?
You're right. He should've called it the Auschwitz or the Charleston, why not go for the gold. I mean those are just place names, man. No historic connotation whatsoever.

Also your second point is a total stretch, because hard-ons can happen naturally, as can wounded paws. You should've chosen the Raptio, whose name I find completely indefensible and I refuse to support MASF as a result. But you probably find that absurd too.

This is kind of nothing to me.

Is it probably it poor taste? Maybe.

But Skreddy is so far down the list to me it doesn't matter. If I were to buy a Muff or Muff clone, I'd probably end up looking toward Wren and Cuff and ehx before Skreddy. They just aren't on my radar. It'd be like Joyo making an insensitive/offensive design.

When I clicked to read "Skreddy new fuzz fail" thread, I thought it'd be a discussion of how the fuzz wasn't up to par instead of the box it is in and how its being marketed. I thought I'd be reading something informative about a possible new circuit to be wary of.

The Chernobyl explosion is hardly the same thing. It's like getting upset at calling something the Fukushima -- If he'd called it the Hiroshima you would have a point, but getting all tight wadded about mechanical failure (as opposed to the dedicated extinction of life) seems excessive.

I was responding the idea that "Finding the name of a place on a pedal offensive is a stretch." I don't think the examples I provided are comparable to Chernobyl in fact, as they were both intentional mass killings vs. human error that led to the massive disruption of life and decades of sickness. Shish is Ukrainian so I trust his viewpoint that this pedal name is in poor taste. Chernobyl probably/obviously has drastically different connotations for people outside of that part of the world than is does for those who were directly affected by it.

Well fucking obviously. I'm sure the Miracle on Ice is treated differently in at least two separate places too. Can't put much stock in that, since it's about as broad reaching and relativistic as you can be.

Universally offensive is more important than subjectively offensive. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Surprised no one is offended by the Skreddy Wetback Reverb pedal coming out.

Not to mention conflating Ukraine and Russia, while eternally offensive to Ukrainians (ask one), should be obviously thin ice given the events of the past couple of years.

Don't find the name offensive or upsetting, just that it feels like it may have been done in bad taste. I don't object to having the thought of dead people on my mind as I stomp down upon my music making devices, but it literally could have been called anything. Like 'NUCLEAR EXPLODOTRON' or 'ALAN'. Literally anything.
