Re: Lofi glitch sources
Tremolessence set to the slowest speed with the shape pushed all the way clockwise (so it's passing the unaffected signal for most of the period) Depth maxed, square wave, time at minimum is great. Every five seconds your signal cuts out for a blip and then is back. 5 seconds, at least in my ears, is just slow enough that you don't notice the regularity of the period when you have other stuff going on. You could use less depth for more subtlety. Or use an expression pedal and randomly speed up and slow down the blips.

its the Seek Trem with "random" mode, which can be used to emulate a shorting cable sound.

i do stuff sort of like this with a Count to 5 & a Raptio. usually, i'll get something i like going with those two, then loop it with a Ditto & play over the bed of gurgling glitch.

This thread is so much tastier than I even thought it might be.

I love having a shifting trem pattern with my gravitas and had it pitch up/low with the CT5 mode 1. The rate to the trem on the repeats goes faster/slower in really weird ways.voerking wrote:i do stuff sort of like this with a Count to 5 & a Raptio. usually, i'll get something i like going with those two, then loop it with a Ditto & play over the bed of gurgling glitch.

I just played around with my geiger counter, and it might not be lofi-glitch like the typ you mean, but damn, it gets so fucking glitchy. Delicious

I am so filled with regret, every time I see the words "Tremorama" and "random mode"; and it forces me to think about how I sold mine.
Sigh...

I mean its cool, but to me it isn't $400 cool. And there's neater stuff like Anti-Nautilus out there now.DADGBD wrote:The_Active_Conundrum wrote:Zvex TremoramaDandolin wrote: Doesn't someone make a "shorting jack" simulator or someawt?

Every time I see someone mention anything sonic crayon as a real world possibility I can't help but sigh. Aren't those unobtainium DLX 3000+?

Re: Lofi glitch sources
IKR?
I made this thread because I want to trek further into the heart of glitch without the benefit of a super deluxe glitch explorer kapsul. (Not that I don't have a coupla few mighty deluxe pieces) but I've hit the financial wall hard and I'm still twitching helplessly like Tyres stuck in a traffic circle next to that zoo where the animal liberation front just executed a cage crash run.
Any suggestions, whether about unobtainium that does it up right or ninja DIY bootstrapping, are welcome and thank you kindly; but the more they involve snapz/kracklz/popz and other lofi, somewhat-more-analoggmachin qualities as opposed to high resolution stutters and triple-layered stepped-pitch swoopiness, and the less they emphasize gold plated or unavailable solutions no matter the bang-for-the-buck factor, the less I will be forced to sigh like a grandmother at her last living heir's stockading for filching from the collection plate at church. And ain't nobody got time for that.

Re: Lofi glitch sources
Something I did is run a splatty, trebly fuzz (in my case, the Biloma) parallel to my signal chain via a pedal with two outputs (used a sick pitch king, but anything should work...or an ehx frequency analyzer) using the direct to go to my amp and the effect out to go to the trigger in on the boss DSD-2. If the pedals are loud enough you'll get some glitchy delays, plus bleed over from the actual parallel signal (but attentuated and not sounding right). Might be worth a try.
Feedback loops into the boss dsd-2 trigger in.

Re: Lofi glitch sources
LFO vs. expression pedal = instant glitch. The Digitech RP360 allows for what I now call glitch mode, where you set the expression pedal and the LFO to control the same parameter of an effect, so when you move the expression pedal, it disrupts the current position of the LFO. This produces different glitches, stutters, stops and artifacts depending on the effect and the parameter. It works especially well on pitch and delay effects, but its potential is endless, as it can be applied to any parameter of any effect. Distortion treble or gain, reverb decay, noise gate sensitivity, wah position, and so on. The best part is it can be had for around $100, which is amazing for the advanced fx editing alone. On top of that, you get delay and modulation powers that don't come in any Strymon or Eventide pedal, and a fully programmable all-purpose end of chain pedal with 99 presets, to save all the choking stutterwhammys and tripping tremdelays and shit. That just so happens to have been designed with the capability to be glitched/hacked/fucked in just such a way.
Not to be overlooked, the Pitchfactor/H9 Harpeggiator mode also has different glitch, fuzz and filter transitions that you can add to the arps & also save to presets...

It's stupidly overwhelming and I like it.
