Skychord Truckloud.
Functions very well on it's own, or behind another pedal. Insane range of sounds for a two knob OD. Can also function as a fantastic clean boost.

I use my fuck most of the time and modded rat the rest. Sometimes both.
I really didn't like my distortion +. Might work better with a different everything else, but I couldn't get the sounds I wanted out of it.

Get someone on here to build you a DAM Sonic Titan clone with a LM386-4 chip. Sounds HUGE. I've tried a tons of pedals over the past few years, and nothing has replaced this yet.

I'll chime in and say that the Aphelion really is pretty sweet. Definitely a very straightforward OD, but in the top tier for that type of sound, IMHO.
Mini's awesome too, a little more weirdo. Depends on what you want — I like both of em and say you couldn't really go wrong with either. Mini's def a lot cheaper.

Used to have one too. Couldn't really afford to keep it at the time, I was in desperate need for a couple extra bucks. I also felt like it was way overkill for me. I mean, it's great to have a versatile do-it-all dirt pedal, but I found myself messing with the switches and controls more than I was actually playing guitar. There's countless really useable sounds inthere, but obviously just one 'preset' switch. And with my two channel amp, the hotcake for low/medium dirt, and four fuzz peds...I really didn't have much use for all that awesomness
Anyway, it wasn't even for sale when someone offered me more for it that what I payed for it brand new. Otherwhise I wouldn't have let my GAS take the best of me again

Sonic Titan: Good call. It's just that with my short attention span and serious case of GAS, I kinda have to worry about resale value a bit. Which is why I usually don't mess with diy clones
No somewhat established builders out there that offer anything Sonic Titan-esque?
As for the Boss suggestion: I kinda consider myself to be somewhat of a Boss fan boy, but I'm not wildly in love with their od series, nor most of their other dirt pedals. FZ-3 is okay, but a little too conservative maybe, and the FZ-2 is seriously badass. The OD seriesn and the DS-2 aren't half bad, and neither is the BD-2, but nothing to write home about either imo
Mxr, dod, and way huge seem to have quite a few high gain distortions that shouldn't cost a lot. I don't like the akward size of the Way Huge enclosures though.

Quit screwing around and check out HPs @Fredric Effects in the UK.

I don't pick up any of the radio broadcast w/Chuck Collins-built HP...in&around the regional nyc market

But I power it via 9v battery; unsure if that plays a role or not.

I always liked Menatone Overdrives. Some of them are pretty weird/interesting, like the Hindenberg.

Surprisingly not many people building anything similar. Fuzzrocious might be the closest. Ram the manparts uses the same chip as the titan. The key here is to use the -4 chip, not the -1. The latter is buzzy. I've used my ST through a traynor YBA-1, and it sounded really good. Retains all the low end and very clear sounding.
I got zzzzzzz to build me a clone for less than $100. Sometimes people on here sell ST clones for less than 60$, and it's pretty easy to flip IMO.
That said, I also recommend the HM-2, particularly the ones made in Japan.

I'll second the Fuck for sure, but also something like an HM2 could be pretty good for this on lower settings
