Man, i've been trying to track down a MASF SCM for days now. Can't make sense of the Japanese sites to see if they're cheaper than ordering from Tone Factor. It's already an expensive price for what it is without getting bumpoked on the crazy US shipping prices.

They go for about 59 in the states and 35 in Japan. Add on shipping and fees and it is about the same either way for the scm.

Yeah, I'm not expecting much of a difference in price, but would love to be able to see for sure. What sites have you seen them that cheap on?

Tone Factor sells them for 59. And Rakuten, Amazon.jp, and Yahoo.jp all go for around 35.

Use a service like fromjapan or something to search. Just the fees will make them probably around 59 after you are all done.

Get a Pitchfactor and put everything on Random on the Harpeggiator.

The SCM is nothing but a spring, screws, jack and contact mic. I made one myself for less than $10.

Yeah, I know I could easily build one myself. The only thing is, stuff like springs aint easy to find here in Ireland. The hardware stores are always pretty shit here. If anyone has something like that lying around that they don't use anymore, please let me know! Wasn't there someone who sold stuff like this before on here??

Use guitar strings like blades of grass with a contact mic in a box. Or just steal one from something else (the little stoppers on the bottom of doors, etc).

I only one two of their pedals but like them very much.

Good call on the guitar strings! Would never have thought of that. Had a look online and Maplin UK sell a box of suitable looking springs for like £4. There's a Maplin store in town so hopefully they'll stock them there too. Have a few cases, jacks and contact mics lying around so may try grab them to get building this weekend :)

Warpsmasher wrote:Possessed is the most cyberpunk shit on earth at this very moment. It's a sound/style you can build whole albums around, and is just as sought after by synth guys as guitarists. Outside of Korg with the grain shifter effect, the whole industry has slept on it up to this point. There's delay gear that you can make similar sounds with if you work at it, but nothing that will nail it like the possessed, because nothing else was made to sound exactly that way on purpose.

Raptio plus gk3(4?) is going to be a real monster since they added CV control. It's control to both rate AND trigger. So with some tweaking you can do anything a judder can. I just hope they solved their reliability issues. :idk:

Also, I want that filter. Or the new DBA evil filter which obviously doesn't exist.
