Atlas prices are incredible, too. $1515 for a stack when you buy together. A single Orange PPC412 is $1099.99. LOL okay

There's a mega thread on Talkbass somewhere about this? This dude fucked A LOT of people. Like straight up stole money. Seems to happen a lot in this industry. :(

I'm not that pissed about Monolith TBH, but it is sad that the Meatsmoke is no longer sold with its intended cabinet.

True, I've been emailing Ben back and forth about the stuff they do for a while now. Next year I will inevitably pull the trigger on a Meatsmoke.

What is the advantage of this type of cab? I have always wondered...

1. Ruggedness for performance and touring
2. Metal-as-fuck aesthetic
3. Extreme customization; companies like Verellen or Black Market Custom will build pretty much literally anything you want
4. Optimized for low-end, power, etc. (see comment two)
5. Most importantly, top-notch build quality
6. Price/value is shoulders above the mass-produced stuff... not always, but I'd say usually

There's nothing wrong with many mass-produced cabs. The Orange PPC412, Marshall 1960, and various Mesa cabs, for example, are very good. But they are often overpriced for the money and are designed to get the most average "classic rock" sound, however good it might be.

All this having been said, a good guitarist can get a good sound out of just about any cab. "Tone is in your hands," etc. Alas... when the GAS strikes...

Ok, so.. metal as fuck bass cabs… for guitar  , I can get behind that  I run my "guitar amps" through old bass cabs… because I've never really wanted to own a guitar cab

I've seen some of the Dictator and Tyrant stuff in Chicago Music Exchange, and emailed a bit back and forth about a 1x12", 1x15". I didn't wind up doing it.

These, though. Wow. http://static.wixstatic.com/media/87d9c ... 00_jpg_srb

Janice is so nice and comes with the Brand New seal of approval which is gold in my books, BUT they are definitely their own thing. You can't do a stack with them unless it's a side stack because of the Ampeg-style angled back. Also they are very tall! Definitely something different which is not a bad thing. The ones with casters and a handlebar are sick as fuck.

This having been said they are expensive... loaded, literally twice the price of Atlas, and hundreds more than any other company in here, including Tyrant.

This one-off from Burnt Offerings (a furniture company) popped up in the Amplifier Worship of Doom FB group and i gotta say, Borat voice, very nice. It's a vintage Marshall 1960a that she took the Tolex off and jazzed up a bit

You need to do it. and don't buy used. Buy from benji. He is the sweetest dude ever and really gives great customer service. He answered allll the stupid questions i asked after i got my smoke. I cannot recommend him enough. Ive been wanting to get something with some reverb from him for a while. The problem with getting a meatsmoke is that your amp gas will be totally gone. Its about seven trillion lbs though. Just so you know. It really sucks moving it around but god is it awesome.

Ive heard that the atlas cabs dude scammed emperor to start his company? I have no idea but what i do know is that hes either in or really closely connected to the guys in velnias and those guys are total pricks.

Ive heard all the cabs above and i hate to say it but the ones i was most impressed by were the monoliths...such a shame.

As for when people order, i really cant recommend the new reissue FANE speakers enough. They are pricy but if you are looking for the real deal cab ditch the celestions and especially those warehouse speakers emperor used to use. I was not impressed with them at all....
