How is that a fair comparison? The Paul C and Vemuram sound/are identical.

Have you even heard the NUX and the Digital/IC Water?

Have a listen, mate. I'm all in for a good discussion, but that comparison makes no sense. For the sake of analogies, let's say the The Paul C and Vemuram are both chicken soups, right? The difference being that one is served in a wooden bowl and other other in a fancy porcelain bowl. The NUX is like a flatbread, and Rhys added some tomato sauce and some cheese. Seems simple, right? Well, what do you want? A piece of bread, or pizza? :snax:

two pots tacked on to the circuit board does not make it different pedal.
...no...it makes it a circuit bend...

Are we even discussing the same thing here? You told me I sound like people arguing over pedals that sound exactly alike, but are priced differently. I'm telling you that someone did something to a circuit that makes it SOUND (not BE) like a completely different pedal. Actually, unlike any other pedal I've heard. And that to me (to be clear, ME), that bend is creative/clever/unique enough for me to pay for it. You don't have to agree with my reasoning, but please don't put words in my mouth. Your argument is on thin enough ice as it is. You don't want it to crack and end up in the....IC Water.

Not that many, no. I might go back some day and show off all the modes.

There's a few snippits of it in this demo. Around 15 minutes in, and again a 22:30.

And with other pedals from 6:45 here. Around 7:20 you can really hear the water-like effect.

UglyCasanova wrote:The circuit bend is awesome and makes it sound NOTHING like the NuX. It's basically a completely different pedal. Nothing sounds like it. If that's not worth your money, i don't know what is. Recommended, for sure. :)

these ^ are some fantastical claims you'd hear in a JanRay TGP thread was my point.

Are you having a laugh? How is that a point? Two pedals that sound the same and two pedals that sound nothing alike. Great. I'll have what you're having.

Oh well. Now that my little GAS overspending panic is over, I will finally get to enjoy my Seppuku pedals. haha.

It actually makes me want to circuit bend a bunch of digital cheap pedals to see what I can make, honestly. For that, I respect Seppuku and Rhys a ton.

Me too. If they ever fall out of fashion and I get my hands on one....

I'd probably just hold onto it until the price went back up. I don't deny they make neat stuff, I just don't like any of those modeled things. It probably cause I don't know what to do with them.

I dunno, might try my hand at those bigger nux ones with the screen. Or something else, I don't know.

Cost doesn't dictate value. Not a complicated concept.

yeah when you have the real deal tape machines a digital emulation just doesn't do anything for me....although i've dipped my toe in them waters to lukewarm results as far as them sounding like the real deal but being interesting as their own thing. and i've got an old digitech gsp2101 for all the digital algorithms I could ever want to create.
