Tons of volume and gain and knowing where the sweet spots are on your fretboard.
That Drown kind of sound is all harmonics generated from open strings and fretted octaves etc.
Once you kinda get em rolling on 7th, say, on the right string, you can usually slide em around and get em to keep feeding back.
Delay is your friend here, also.
I used to do this with a shitty peavey rage and a shitty ibanez rx all day long when I was a kid.
You can do this with grown up toys, for sure.
