For me it's the barber LTD SR. Traded my OS-2 (I think) for one cuz it could be done basically. Checked on it and when the description said stuff like "transparent", "clean boost" and "light OD" I expected nothing interesting from it. It is now one if my favorite dirts. Maxed out, tone set at 11-ish and after a reverb it sounds just amazing. I have other stuff that has blown my mind over expectations, but nothing out of the blue like this one

I got my Guyatone FL-3 flanger mainly because it was really cheap. Yes, it does the big jet plane sweep butt rock thing. But the resonance switch at 1 is amazing. I like it more than chorus most places you might think to use chorus. Very subtle liquid animation.

The venerable Dano Daddy-o.
It was a gift from a fan who didn't use it.
I couldn't say no to free gear.
Surpisingly it does the low gain fake jazz room sound very well.

Boss PS-2, for sure. Once I started using it as a noisy sampler, I was hooked. The pitch shifting mode also lead me to the PS-3 and now the Count To Five. I am in love with digital pitch shifting now!
Danelectro v.1 Cool cat Fuzz is another one, it provided a completely different big muff alternative to my 71 Supercollider. Cool Cat is big, gnarly, and woolly; while the 71 is smooth and chill.

How much do you like your PS-3 vs a Count to 5? I have a Count to 5 and I've been back and forth on if I should get a PS-3 or not.

My very first pedal was a Boss MD-2 Mega Distortion. Never could bring myself to get rid of it, everytime I mess with it I realize how good and straight up HEAVY it is. Love it even more with the bass VI.

Another vote for the rat. I picked one up in dual pedal form mostly because I wanted the other pedal. Now I use the rat side tons and the fuzz side pretty seldom.

I actually sold my PS-3 a few days ago.

Between the Lo-fidelity and sampling of the PS-2, the clean and creative fun of the Count to Five, and with a Timeline on the way, I deemed it unnecessary/overkill. Some other people in my position might have sold the PS-2 over the PS-3, but I just can't let go of how you can mangle a sample with the PS-2.

Oh shit I want a PS-2 so much now. Mangling samples is my favorite thing. How many delays are too many delays by the way?

The PS-2 is a fun pedal for sure! You also know the trick with the "Tuner Out" connected to the input, do you?

SS/BS Fuck - Had the Mini. Didn't love it. Got offered the Fuck in a trade. Thought I'd give it a go, and suddenly I was an "OD pretty much always on" person.

That's probably right. But it can't be less than nine. Because I've got seven dedicated delay devices. And I know I could use one more before getting to "too many." Well, probably at least two more ... Or three ....
I'll let you know when I hit 20.
