Dude, the rugrats are super fun. Both have started walking, and right now one is sitting on top of a box of LPs, just enjoying the scenery and generally being happy with life, and the other is pulling books out of a shelf and throwing them on the floor. Haha.
But dude, the band... we've got so much new material, some of it heavier than that tune, and some a bit more like Devin Townsend when he gets in super super happy mode (but without the layering of like 1000 voices and instruments and stuff). We're really happy with it, but I think our band is like Spinal Tap or something. We've got a brand new bassist, but all of his amps are still in France, and our drummer (who founded the band) just left because he didn't have enough hours left in the day. So it's very frustrating. But the new bassist is learning super quickly, and we've gelled really well. I'm currently programming drums for all of our tunes, so in the worst case we can go out Godflesh style and play but with sampled drums. I've been using addictive drums, which I'm getting to sound more and more like a real kit, but I just downloaded Alesis SR-16 samples and have loaded them in to Ultrabeat, so we may take a step closer to Godflesh haha. We're jamming with a new drummer after Easter and we'll see where that goes, but I'm planning for all possibilities. So it looks like the spring will either be getting to know a new drummer or refining the drum programming, autumn we'll gig the new material and then late autumn or early spring 2016 we'll record. We want to get super tight and try and do it as close to "live in the studio" as possible". We'll see. But I'll make another demo or two before then anyway!
Vidret has a brutal setting for the notch filter on the dirty BQ that I'm hanging out to do something with.
Cool news about the band, hope it's been going your way the last couple weeks! It's tough getting a bunch of adults on the same page hey... I've always liked programmed drums anyway though, so I think that option sounds cool. Really excited for the album, I like your style!

Thanks buddy! We're definitely loving the change from Alberta to BC, it's great down here!

I think he just eats tourists all summer and then rests all winter... cause I haven't seen him and I've been watching.

Ryan, By the time you read this, you'll be either taking a break from unpacking, or have avoided ILF to finish your packing and have put paid to it.
I've looked at container houses as well, and rammed earth such as Randy Bachman's place on Salt Spring Isl (which was up for sale not long ago — amazerballs to have been able to buy that place with the recording studio looking out over the lake and soak up the Big Time Operator's echoing vibes while laying down tracks... I don't have pockets that go that deep though).
Wishing you much stability and calm after such a hectic 2014/'15.
Cheers,
FF

Shipping container homes are somewhat accepted in Hong Kong, sort of:

Haha yeah! And that's what they do, they find a nice spot with a nice view and they sit around all day! They're super cute, I really love 'em.. they remind me of the gopher from Caddy Shack, just adorable little fuzzy goofballs. But they poop everywhere and they eat all the nearby foliage and they go under our deck and they're super messy and they upset my lil dog buddy... so they gotta go. We sealed up our deck and used capsaicin pellets to make it unattractive to them and we think we've chased them off to the surrounding hillsides, which is fine by us.
We're all settled and loving it here, everything is awesome, but the moves have really messed up my lead times. I don't have any help building pedals and I only make about 60 or 70 per month.. I've got over 200 on order right now through my retailers. These aren't pre-paid orders so I'm not sitting on all their money, but nobody is appreciating the 2 month wait for pedal orders and it keeps getting worse. I was hoping things would maybe slow down a bit in the summer which is normal and I'd get caught up a bunch.. but the Heisenberg is nearly ready! Gonna be a busy summer and I might need to look into getting some soldering help.
That's wassup right now though, long lead times but working hard on it!
