That's pretty cool looking. Too in depth for me, I think, but it sounds great.

I've been interested in one. Wasn't aware there was a Pro version coming, anywhere I can read about it?

I've played one and it was wonderful. A lot though. Too much for not having presets imo. It'd be hard but is necessary with the millions of sounds it can get.

bumping an old thread...
I'm not a guitarist but an electronic music producer and I'm planning to buy a WMD Geiger Counter (full version) to use it on synths and drum machines but I'm not sure should I buy bass modded or unmodded version... Is there a noticeable difference between them?
Thnx!
p.s. I tried to contact/ask WMD via email but without luck.

Nice entrance/necrobump!
I'm not an electronic music producer (and I haven't tried either version of the GC), but if I were, I think I'd go with the bass modded one.

Yes, that makes sense. I just wonder if the mod could negatively affect the high-end of the spectrum, as i've read in here:
https://www.talkbass.com/threads/wmd-ge ... t-14556478
Another question... If you turn the bit reduction knob all the way to the right, does it go beyond the mark 8 and will that turn off bit redution?

Yeah, I don't know. It quite possibly could. I know oftentimes when modding an effect to increase range at one end of the spectrum it comes at the expense of range at the other. I guess it all depends on which's more important to you.

Well, I don't know, i definitely wouldn't want it to sound dull...
thnx!
p.s. i'm still waiting for WMD to respond my emails regarding this... for more than a week, or two. Maybe holidays...

Another option might be to get one of each, test 'em out for yourself and then ditch the one you don't like as much.

That would be the best option possible! ...and the worst at the same time.

The ilf answer is always both, at the same time.

I'm a bass player and had the non-modded GC first and then had him do the bass mod and I agree with what was said in the Talkbass thread about it having a beefier low end and losing a bit of high end. I can let you know tomorrow about where on the bit reduction knob it seems to "turn off"

I would just get the unmodded one and put it on a loop with blend. Hell, you can even just run a parallel line with a heavy lpf to only have the low end content. Add bitters, mix to taste.
