I remember selling my Fm4, Dm4, Verbzilla and DL4's (had two, one keeley mod and one stock) when I heard the M9 was about to come out. Personally I think it's a great allround pedal. I don't like the delays as much as I used too, but that's mainly cause I've gotten picky and have more specific taste nowadays, but it's a great unit for people wanting a lot of good sounding fx without splashing out millions. Also, it has that longer looptime that I always missed with the DL4. Only thing I don't like about the M9 compared to the old "4-units" is how it's almost impossible to tweak in real time without mushing the sounds up completely. I really miss that from having a Dl4 and Fm4, those big knobs and making it oscillate or whatever while having a loop or note going. If they hade put the same line of knobs as the 4-units on top it'd be on my board all the time. Now I just use it at home or for the occasional looping during rehearsals.

Can't you just assign those parameters via MIDI and use a controller to adjust whatever you want?

Had an M9, used it with bass mostly. Loved it. Made all sorts of wtf stuff with it.

Nice idea! I suppose I could but that does mean I'll have to get an extra midi controller which means spending more money and taking up more space. So I guess it'll just have to stay a home/looping-unit. It's pretty cool for that though.

I love my M13! Two expression pedals make it an unstoppable space noise monster. Plus it has some cool midi functionality if that's your cup of tea. (MIDI implementation could actually be better but handles basic stuff like midi tempo sync just fine)

I have both an M13 and an M9. I use the M13 as a stand-alone pedalboard.

The M9 is the main controller for the board as it sends Program Changes to the PX-8 and H9.

I love these things. Amazingly versatile sounds and a great user interface.

The purple box is my rehoused Duncan Tweak Fuzz.

I've had BOTH, because I have a weird job. BUt I hung onto the m9. I use it for the FM4 models, delay (of course) and looping (also of course)
The main reason it's around is so when I'm writing or recording and I think "Oh I need a phaser or something" I can just try a few effects that I dont generally care about enough to buy dedicated units for.
