all the EHX organ style pedals are annoying to me, they aren't really clones of pedals but clones of sounds and just pog ripoffs anyway
I would never want to see any of the old pitch stuff cloned either
DOD octoplus for example - plus if you cloned it with true bypass how could it bleed into your signal?

I also think any amp in a box style pedals Tech 21 amps and such are frigging stupid if they don't come with an XLR output

I'm just fucking sick of clones, period. Give it up, the pedal world doesn't need another anything. You are not special, you are not a unique snowflake, stop trying to pawn off "I changed one resistor in the schematic and covered this Hammond 1590bb with angel jizz" Fuzz Face clones for four hundred damn dollars.

absolutely, everyone knows that Angels don't have reproductive organs.

Yeah, I don't get the boutique tubescreamer clone thing. The current run Ibanez TS pedals sound exactly the same as the boutique copies.

Please don't ruin the Victoria's Secret catalogs for the few people out there that don't have the internet.

Agreed. I can't stand direct clones or circuits that literally have no thought behind them. That's why there's research and development.

I mean to a point everything is going to be based on something, but not a direct copy. So annoying when people do this shit.

Of course. My only point is that the last thing the world needs is another Tube Screamer, another Super Fuzz, another whateverthefuck. I don't care if you salvaged the caps from downed MIG fighters to give your Black Russian Big Muff "teh m0j0z", it's just a fucking Big Muff. Just stop. Make something interesting - if the collective pants-wetting over the RM1N and Count To 5 has proven anything, it's that people want new and different.

Oh, and "cloning" something that's currently in production? Get fucked and go bag groceries.

* And just so someone can ignore this disclaimer and quote something above out of context, I'm talking about pedal businesses. You wanna build a Fuzz Face clone to learn how it works, to learn how to solder and how to tweak a circuit? Get on with your bad self. You wanna sell it for the cost of parts to fund building something else and learning more? Boss. Study up, experiment, and build the next ILF Boner Bringer. I'll buy one - or at least drool over the demo vids!

jwar wrote: Anything "vintage". Vintage to me equals boring as fuck. I've NEVER been interested in vintage shit. Especially when I builder clones a vintage circuit to the T and tries to make it look the same as the original. How fucking boring and lame.
Curious, if you have a pedal today that you really like, and if you still had it several years down the line to the point where it was considered vintage do you think you would still like the pedal? If not, do you think it is because your taste changed or simply because it became "vintage" which is something you inherently hate?

I know this is a bit of an odd question especially since you sometimes flip pedals before you even receive them in the mail, but I am genuinely curious about stuff like this.

chuckjaywalk wrote:Danelectro Fab Tone: Okay, I actually thought about this one. In a decent enclosure, with some component swaps, I think it might be serviceable. I just shudder at the thought of charging someone $200 for a Fab Tone clone. Fab Clone... Fuck, someone will be selling one of these before I finish this paragraph.

I actually just found this today:
http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/201 ... -tone.html

The Fab Tone was my very first pedal ever...weighed a metric shit-ton and had cheap ass knobs, but sounded great to me when I was 13. So I thought about building one for for old time sake. Granted, I only just recently heard about the gay hate thing, and don't know the details, but that's way not cool.
