Yeah, worth calibrating for used gear. We are musicians. For most of us, everything we buy is a different form of capital, so most of the time it's used gear as any value that would be lost after a new purchase is on the person who sold it. 90% of my purchases are used. The other reason we buy used is that new gear comes and goes. The stuff that is timeless, and proven sticks around [Traynor, Fender Silverfaces, I am looking at you].

Also, in the three seconds I looked at the survey before scaring myself noticed that it wasn't possible to specify buying direct from a manufacturer. Whenever I've bought new gear that isn't like strings or plectrums it has almost always been direct (or 2nd hand like other dudes have pointed out).
