There is a weight and portability dimension for me. Plus I just like to be different.

Best answer you could give.

You've convinced me. It also makes the most sense from the resistance perspective.
Anyone have any suggestions for me for speakers? I was thinking maybe two Greenback 12"s and a ceramic Weber Michigan 15" with paper dome. Any members of the forum have experience with the Michigans? I had an Avatar with Greenbacks and that cab sounded very good to my ears.
Stylistically even my clean channel is usually a little gritty and very reverberated, and my gain channel is Skyhammer-ish.

Nice. I think two Greenbacks and a Michigan would be cool. I would suggest looking for higher powered Greenbacks, around 50w each. And regardless of how well the amp can handle the mismatch, I would still recommend matching the impedance for an 8 ohm total. So something like a 16 ohm 15" and two 8 ohm 12's.
I think Skip has Michigan 15's and Weber 65's mixed and likes it. I had EVM12L's and a JBL D140 and it was pretty excellent. Very loud and clean.

12" and 15" are pretty close. I'd go with a more dramatic difference between speaker cone sizes like 10" and 15" or an 8" with the 15." Then you get speakers that are working better for different frequencies. Pay attention to efficiency and EQ curves. When mixing speaker sizes in the same cabinet sometimes you only hear one speaker and the others get blotted out in the mix.

Cabinet has been ordered. When it's delivered I'll show you all what I wound up deciding on.

Where? I first saw it today. I happened upon a picture of the unfinished cab a couple of days ago on his carpenter's page.
And many thanks! It's so nice to see the idea come to life. I really like it -- looks very post-war / 1950s to me.
