Finding people sucks. I just gave up at some point and taught my brother how to play bass instead lol.

How is he as a bass player now? Did he fall in love with bass and playing music as a result?

Yeah he loves it. He's gotten better in a few months than most bass players I've worked with before (though to be fair I've had bad luck with bass players). Not in a technical sense, just in that doom bass player sense where he can really hold everything together when me and the drummer are flailing lol. And his ability to come up with riffs on the spot is very respectable. He's played trumpet for almost a decade so I think that's given him a leg up in some ways, but they're such completely different instruments so it's cool to see.

That's awesome. Cultivating your own band members is a good idea. Wish I had some people to turn into musicians.
