And I more or less felt the same way...

I demoed some random laney back in 02 or 03 - summer of the black out - that I found on CL and was wholly unimpressed. Found it flat, lifeless. The carpet over the amp cliche. Other than a brief passing interest in the Cub10, laney never crossed my mind again.

So I know now there's different models of the aor protube - 50 v 100w, some with extra diode gain stages some without, 6 knob vs 8 knob , etc

Don't know if the one I played a decade ago was a dud, if the one I got this weekend is some kind of feral unicorn, or if I just like one varient over another.
