Hiwatt Alternatives?

The reason I cited Hovercraft was because the OP was looking for a less expensive option. In looking for a Hiwatt type bass amp, it's become clear to me that Reeves and Science are the best way to go (I'm currently saving for a Mother). But if you're willing to forego some quality to save money, you can get a Hovercraft Elder Giant for over a grand less than a Reeves 225. And they are doing some sort of transformer upgrades (at least on the Elder Giant).
