can I be crass and ask exactly how / why it died?

If its just the power supply or footswitch or some shit thats easy to fix.

I have an OG POG v1 and its gravy. no issues whatsoever.

Not sure exactly. Have the proper EH power adapter.....new even.
Worked fine for about a year. Then, randomly......when I turned on my pedalboard.........the POG's LED would be on, footswitch did nothing and it wouldn't function. no sound.
I figured out that if I unplugged the adapter and plugged it back in, it would work again.

After a few more months of that.....sometimes it just wouldn't work. randomly didn't do anything. randomly would work fine.

A few weeks after that it stopped working. no LED, nothing.

Sent it to EH. They fixed it. Worked great for about a month or so.....then just stopped working again. no LED, nothing.

Just wanted to add, I've had a Micro POG for aages (probably been on my board for at least 5-6years now). It's got some surface wounds for sure, but never had any problems with it and I've used it a lot!

Also, if you decide to go for that POG2, make sure you try it first, all the POG's and HOG's sound different to me. I got one when it came out and thought it sounded soo much more artificial and digital than the micro and original pog, for some reason. For that same reason I liked/thought better of the tracking of my micro too. Eventually I sold the POG2, stuck with the micro, and never regretted it.

I agree. Side by side the POG2 sounded way artificial and lacked balls compared to my v1. I wanted to love it for the presets but just couldn't. Had the OG HOG as well and it sounded even worse, def my least favorite of the bunch behind the v1 POG and Micropog.

I've never owned a Pog but have played a Pog II and thought it sounded great! Not to artificial to my ears? Maybe I'm tone deaf? LOL.

Also, big plus 1 to the Pitchfactor.

I've never had any problems with EHX pedals. I just picked up yet another og POG and it's awesome but I need either a y cable for my pedal power or a wall wart so I can actually use the thing, but dude....just get another v1 POG and roll on.

In the end its always each to his/her own. :D I'm not a big fan of the things sounding (in lack of a better word) too digital.
For example, I would probably say the same thing about the pitchfactor. Might have just stuck with the fact that all the OG's from EHX sound really different, despite sharing quite a few letters.
