Mate all I can tell you is all builders prices depend on the ego of the builder. Some builders will work cheap because the love what they do, and some builders will charge a lot for what they do because they think what they do is akin to rocket science or brain surgery. Hit up a few people in the shark tank for some quotes.

I did. He said $150 for regular, and after that it depended on how corksniffer I wanna go. I just want to go in armed with an expected range when I talk to him about it.

I thought I'd ask about pricing for a fuzz on a board called ilovefuzz.com that I recently joined, I mean go figure right? I thought SOMEONE might have an opinion about current prices on a popular type of fuzz in such a place. Sadly it appears

Thank You!!!!

Goddamn. :picard:

Seriously, thanks man. First person that's actually given a piss in regards to what I actually asked. So I was thinking in the correct range you think. I might even go ahead and order my own caps & transistors if he doesn't already have what I want on hand. The guy isn't building production pedals anymore, but used to run Circuit Rider FX. He bought a speaker from me, we swapped some pickups, and started talking pedal builds. He says he still likes to build, but being a single dad it wasn't really working out running a boutique pedal business.

I don't want to go bugging people who I'm not going to engage in business. I just had a general question for people who normally buy, trade, and sell fuzzes. Figured it would be kind of normal around here.

Instead I got :wha?:

Weird shit be afoot at the Circle K.

I don't really know a lot about buying and selling. If I want a vintage clone with custom features then I just build it myself. Or buy one from a good builder like Fuzzhuger from their product line.

No worries
As kaos said it entirely depends on the builder
My price was high quality everything, screen printed graphics, no mates rates etc and also may be a bit uneducated as I don't really know about 'mojo' parts
You could probably get one cheaper from a shark tank builder and if you didn't worry about mojo parts
Mark at makesoundsloudly pedals makes good stuff for quite cheap

I hear that. I've thought about doing just that too, and building it myself, but I have too many hobbies already and don't need to take up DIY pedals as another. I'd order the parts, never do it, and end up a) paying someone else to build it, or b) throwing the shit in a drawer and buying what I want.

I met this guy. He seems cool. He's a local and a single dad so I'd like to give him my business since he does know his shit. Plus I have a very specific graphic I want on the pedal too.

I think if you were having someone do something custom with your specs w/ mojo parts a fair price would probably be around $200. Depends on the builder and their spare time, etc. Also depends on how anal you are and how the builder responds to that. Someone could probably do it for cheaper especially if there are no graphics. So $150-200.

The OP was a little confusing. Or I was just confused. I thought you were asking because you were thinking of trying to develop this pedal to sell. Which is where my initial post came from.

Cool. Thanks man. Seems again in line with where I was thinking. If he does the graphic I could see $200, maybe even $225.

I have thought about getting into pedal building. Lord knows it would help my GAS pains, and save me some money, but I don't really have the time. I don't even play guitar anywhere near as much as I should.

Yeah, if you think you'll get the circuit you want with graphics $225 is def a good offer. It's just finding the balance of how much time a builder would want to spend vs. what you want to pay. If you ever took up diy you could probably make it for $30 but then you spend the time learning, etc.

But 150-225 you should be able to get what you want, never heard of that builder before, just make sure your research past builds of any builder and you'll end up in the right place.

The Mad Titan wrote:Right. I just want to know what you all would pay for what I'm having built. That's all I'm asking. What's the top price you'd pay for the pedal I described with NOS components and all sans any finish or graphics?

It's really a simple question ya'll, no state secrets need be spilt.
It really depends on who's building it. So, not really a simple question.
