I'd say any solid state amp with a 12" speaker that costs less than $50.
No need to take the tubes or booteek route for bedroom practice...

Yeah, just get something cheap and save your money for more pedals or a bigger amp when you want it.
I had a roland cube 20 for a long time that worked really well.
Actually, I still have that somewhere...
I would suggest just getting a cheap, used solid state practice amp.
Peavey, Acoustic, Univox. Roland, etc.

the vox pathfinder 15 was my first practice amp. i still use it to practice now. I'm not sure where you live, but if you can find one used, its worth checking out.
