I can see how that might suck, but damned if it wouldn't sound amazeballs.
Also, regarding what you were saying about the tape, I was thinking it would be great if the pedal just behaved like a tape and you could do all those things with it. I imagine there are some pretty cool sweet spots in between sounds that are nice and out there.

all you'll see is the two track machine slightly out of focus more than likely.

Ok then.
You could always just wear some weird get up, have a bunch of weird shit going on in the background.
Demos now directed by David Lynch.

Get a zig-zag carpet with some red curtains and hire a midget and roll the convo backwards...
Could work for UG demos...

We should all get zig zag rugs and intro our demos backwards, that way when shit pops up on youtube and we don't recognise the user name, we know the rest of the vid will be quality.
We'll be like the bookhouse demo boys.

They've already got a pretty tricked out flanger (the orbit) so I wouldn't write off the possibility of lofi looper. I can't see that the flanger market is big enough to have two pedals that focus on flanging.

I mean, everyone is getting on that looper game, I'd love to see what those guys could pull off with it. I'm also glad it's a small box pedal! I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I've never gotten into their do-it-all boxes, they make me feel like I'm handling a DAW more than an actual pedal.

maybe, but I think strymon are in the sort of position now that they could do just about anything and people would buy it.
the Orbit and Ola are based on analog BBD pedals whilst this seems to be modeled on tape-reel modulation which would cover flange/chorus/double-tracking in a different way to their existing modulation pedals surely?
to me it seems that a lofi looper would be more redundant in their lineup because the El Capistan is already a looper with tape sim degradation/modulation (and seriously it's pretty well-featured even though its not the main trick of that pedal for most people).
i'm curious as to whether the second switch is tap tempo or something else, i guess that would give it away though.

I reckon that it'll be two pretty much identical sides, one for real time manipulation and the other for adding a second identical yet delayed signal.

I like flange but I might like it on the whole mix more than on just one guitar.
Put it in the PA's effects loop and have a bro fade it in and out.
You guys seen Comets on Fire? They had a guy (onstage) who only played the Echoplex. Not sure about the routing, but that was cool. Somebody should try using flange like that.
