I'm so scary to ask this but... What is a BILF? :poke:

It's the annual sexy pedalboard contest here at ILF!
Everyone votes on which anonymous boards they like best.
It's very cool. :)

Yeah, it's super fun. Except I keep not winning. So I'm starting early.

What if I don't have a fuzz or a boutique pedal on it? What are my chances? :hobbes:

You'll never know if you don't enter. :)

I didn't compete last year, but I kept close tabs on what went down.
It is a very laid back competition and people here at ILF are very open minded about things.
If it's rad enough for you to rock, you should submit it proudly!

Yeah, the categories were fun for me to think up, but did not really work to the benefit of the contest. So if there are categories, we need something that's objective.

Number of pedals is a classic. After MaryKellys post I was thinking maybe do a value division. It might be hard to be exact about this, especially if you use rare or vintage stuff, but just a rough estimate would be sufficient. I would not have a clue where to set the margin though. Like 800$?

With number of pedals 8 seems to be a good choice, that's about the separation between normal and large. Maybe go <5, 5-8, >8. Or even <5, 5-8, 9-11, <11

Some people will probably submit boards they have built for the occasion, so could you, UG.

Right, I'm off to Make-up Store to buy some nail polish to pimp the toes.

I'm torn because the "board" part of things is only a small, small fraction of my sound - the board is almost all dirt...but the outboard gear/rack stuff/Space Echo/etc are as much as a part of it as my board.

I've tried to do it in the past without context and featuring just the board but it's sort of like chopping a finger off and going "here's the human anatomy" where I'm concerned.

Sure a few of us may be in the same boat, using stuff that's not just "board."

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

This is why we do a Battle of the Rigs too. The Doom Room dudes would love it.
