I love that tone.

This would be a good place to start for sure.

The Bit might get you this sound bit its been a while since ive played one. I'll sound like a broken record here but the Bit is awesome with delay running into it.

What about a vintage micro synth?

Just to switch it up from all the Bit recs... the velcrobot!
Turn down the volume on yr git to take out some of the attack, or I guess a compressor would work too. I haven't found a standalone that gets it quite right, but Slowdive's swells are mostly due to the compressor on the FX500-- the verb and delay are actually pretty tame.
:idk:

I'm pretty sure the dude from SSPU is fairly renowned for having a Devi-Heavy board (Soda Meiser and TBD, if I recall correctly), and live he's got a lot of Muff going on (wahey!).
Hopefully that helps.

I get sounds like that with an oscillating fuzz, set so it's quite "polite" and just sticks on a note but lets you have sustain for a bit. I think the devi recs are on point.

pretty much any glitchy fuzz with a neck pup/tone rolled off going into it will do that.

Ruiner or bit. Sounds just like a bit.

Devi Ever Bit or Disaster Fuzz.

Yea, can get right there with my Disaster Fuzz or the Test Pattern set to decay just so. Test Pattern is more fun, as it ends up doing what it wants and becoming the moment.

Pretty much anything that can ride that "edge of control" point will do it though in the pseudo-oscillating category though I'd guess.

As soon as I saw SSPU I knew which sound you were talking about... I saw them live a couple times on that tour and Brian used mainly Guitar Center pedals...

Also remember that the Keyboards ape his lines half the time and it's a mix of Nord/Moog and Guitar...

His DD Delays have a lot to do with his toan and you could prolly get close with a neck pu Muff being driven hard...

Yeah, he definitely uses much crazier pedals in the studio. I've got a Frazz Dazzler incoming and I'm hoping I can get some real cool sounds stacking it with my
Fingerprint. I'm probably gonna have to put this fuzz hunt on the back burner for a while. I just put down some money on a HD-130 so my gear funds are tied up until that's paid off.
