Space Echo (both the preamp and the delay) - nets a certain sound/compression past the echo.
Boss GL-100 (clean channel more than the HM2 on crack) - it's got a certain sparkle and happiness on the clean channel that makes a Fender coil guitar really jump.

Do treble boosters count as "not eq"? If wahs do, these should. Also, if wahs ar game, Digi2t's Tresonator project seems like it'll be the bomb when he's ready to ship boards.
Are Varitones outside the scope of your eq concept? Handy ass things to have in a pedal. The right notch in the right place can be pretty useful.

I usually try to avoid always on pedals but the closest would Sparkle Motion or a tremolo set low. For whatever reason, just a tiny tiny bit of tremolo completely changes a sound. Compressor is good but I'd rather run them with knobs turned up to loud and ugly

Thanks! I'm not a comp type of guy, but this one seems great.UglyCasanova wrote:That's what the blend will do for you. Give this demo a listen and see what you think. I think it would work for you too.

Around 8:40 he has it at the setting I use. He then goes on to show it with blend/mix at 100% and then back to about 50%. You can tell how fat it sounds without sounding overly compressed.
Not sure I need a comp.

Would you said that that kind of comp make your sound more like 3 dimentional?
It's hard to describe, but 3D is what I'm looking for. You know that little something that is missing when you play at low volume at home.

Hmm, I'd get a Dr Sci The Cleanness for that, that's exactly what it does.

I have The Elements.Tristan wrote:Hmm, I'd get a Dr Sci The Cleanness for that, that's exactly what it does.
And it's on low gain all the time.

I love phasers and flangers. I had a Dyna Comp but sold it because I didn't really like it, or see a use for it. I'm relatively new to the world of effects, but at the time being I don't feel like I have a use for compressors.

Maybe try it like that at the front of your board balancing gain, volume and eq controls, a friend of mine has a The Cleanness and I thought it sounded awesome that way, really enhances your sound.
