I'm using my AB-Synth 5k on germanium most of the time.

Just started using a V2 Zap Machine in my punk band and that thing just sounds so fuckin rock and roll! I love it. Also have a Quantum Mystic that sounds HEAVY without being super gain-y. Need to check out more germ dirt for sure.

Buzzaround is fantastic. I always felt it was a overdrive/fuzz as it's super heavy but there's that rich color in chords. I wonder what a range master would sound like with germanium clippers. Maybe with a saturation control to dial in and out the grit. Probably amazing.

EHX's Germanium Overdrive is one of the weirdest (but not spectacularly weird, just an odd duck) pedals they ever made. There's a huge volume boost in the gain knob (but no master volume/overall level), a bias knob, and a voltage knob. I've become pretty fond of putting it at the end of my board in a setting that's quite voltage starved, to the point that it's useless for little other than scratchy noise or texture by itself. When I hit it with something else, though -- lately a Dwarfcraft Zhago -- the thing just fucking roars with a loud gated-type pseudo-fuzz. It's not the intended use for the pedal, but I've never really heard anything else like it. One of these days I'm going to talk to aen about it.

Also want to try the Way Huge Havalina - some of the sounds in demos are the type of tones I get with the setup above
