Re: What do you guys use for live looping?

i got rid of my rang iii for the ditto x2 becasue my rang was clipping all the time and it was pissing me off. i thought this was an inherent problem with all rangs. i was wrong and now i miss my rang like crazy.
but, selling the rang and getting an x2 put a bunch of cash in my pocket and that was nice. i have now started playing with someone else who is into looping and a drummer, and we are having massive syncing issues. not massive, but we're both pretty green to playing with other human beings, that are looping no less.
so tonight at practice i am going to pitch the jamman solo xt, as we could atleast sync to each other. i know the ditto is great, i like it a lot. straight forward operation. solid construction, too. i don't think i could do a solo set with it though. the options just aren't there. the boomerang and infinity are not cheap (although i have seen infinitys go for <300) but the offer you options that you just don't get with other products, and the giant boss boards are loaded with a bunch of features that i don't think a serious looping musician needs..unless you like that cheesy rhythm machine shit)
i guess it really depends on the complexities of your loops, are you looking for verse-chorus type setup, do you need to record longer subsequent loops than the original loop, how well can you time your starting and stopping?
these are all questions one must ask when heading down live-looping lane.
does anyone have experience with the jam sync feature of the digitech? i would be super interested to know what its like before i convince some dude i barely know that we need that shit...
