i got rid of my rang iii for the ditto x2 becasue my rang was clipping all the time and it was pissing me off. i thought this was an inherent problem with all rangs. i was wrong and now i miss my rang like crazy.

but, selling the rang and getting an x2 put a bunch of cash in my pocket and that was nice. i have now started playing with someone else who is into looping and a drummer, and we are having massive syncing issues. not massive, but we're both pretty green to playing with other human beings, that are looping no less.

so tonight at practice i am going to pitch the jamman solo xt, as we could atleast sync to each other. i know the ditto is great, i like it a lot. straight forward operation. solid construction, too. i don't think i could do a solo set with it though. the options just aren't there. the boomerang and infinity are not cheap (although i have seen infinitys go for <300) but the offer you options that you just don't get with other products, and the giant boss boards are loaded with a bunch of features that i don't think a serious looping musician needs..unless you like that cheesy rhythm machine shit)

i guess it really depends on the complexities of your loops, are you looking for verse-chorus type setup, do you need to record longer subsequent loops than the original loop, how well can you time your starting and stopping?

these are all questions one must ask when heading down live-looping lane.

does anyone have experience with the jam sync feature of the digitech? i would be super interested to know what its like before i convince some dude i barely know that we need that shit...

Btw, if anyone's looking for a new Ditto x2, I have one I don't use. I liked it enough, just didn't like it as much as my DL4 and Headrush E2 combo. The footprint works better for me I guess.

I enjoy my Rang III A LOT. It's actually the first looper I feel comfortable using, way more so than anything Boss or Digitech. Plus the midi sync capabilities and bonus features are awesome.

Yep it sync to master clock you define the divider by how lengthy you record a loop. Easy stuff :)

Does the Ditto X2 have the capability to reset the loop with one tap?

by reset you mean wipe clean? tap to stop or hold down the 2nd switch for a second to wipe it clean

No, I mean like starting the loop over immediately just by tapping a button.

Midi sync is the very reason my bandmate and I both got Boomerangs. They're synced to a Macbook running Mainstage for droom loops, samples and also my keyboard sounds.Powerful stuff.

Yeah, i know. I still use two lexicon jammans because of The superior midi Sync.
If i get a boomerang i would have to redo my complete board. Right now i'm not into that idea...

EHX announced a new looper last week. That's all I know because I didn't watch the video as I am not in the market for a looper. So you can watch the video and make up your own minds.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to integrate Delaylab and Headrush together for dual looping madness. With the Freeze for good measure, and of course the ILFDD. Dang, I could use some downtime to really game that all out. One problem is uncertainty about a starting point to stick with long enough to figure out what's working and what isn't. Total first world problem.
