That'd be awesome, Doctor X, I'd love to hear a demo. I totally know how it's not as easy to record as much as I'd like to either.

I was just lookin' on Beigel's Facebook page a bit. Seems like he does intend to shrink down an updated Bi-Phase into a smaller enclosure at some point.

I'm just concerned it doesn't sound exactly like a Bi-Phase. Then again, there's no saying that if Mike Beigel builds an updated take on the Bi-Phase, it'll sound just like the old ones either.

thats my concern too, i want that "vintage" tone is the only way to put it. of course having the same features/functions is of the most importance...but it has to have the tone is what i'm looking for...and really, in my experience with numerous other pedals no clone comes close to nailing that elusive tone. there was alot of hype that the pi-phase gets there and no doubt its going to sound great....i wish somebody who lived near me had one to check out is the bane of my existence.

No dog in this race, but even on the website blurb they acknowledge the reviews of their pedal that say its "95% of the way there" so no, I dont think the PiPhase will produce the exacting tone that purists looking for the vintage BiPhase sound will really demand.

Thanks for the heads-up - I've updated the website to reflect a broader range of comments from Pi-phase owners. Comments from people who actually own both the Pi-phase and original Bi-phase have been overwhelmingly positive ... although I admit a significant number of people seem to want the Pi-phase for processing their reggae tracks, and they could well be 'filled with the joy of life' ;) at the time they contact me.

Regarding the lack of you-tube etc demos, I figure there's no point in creating demand that can't be addressed by the current build rate of pedals. This is something that is being changed right now. Prophecysound will soon undergo structural changes that will allow me to get away from hand-building every pedal, and put my time and energy towards integrating some new - and completely unique - technology, in partnership with another couple of guys. A side-effect of that will be the reduction of the waiting list for Pi-phases to zero, and stock actually being on-hand. Finally I'll also be able to get something out to a few dealers so people who don't like buying wholly online can check a unit out in person.

And apologies for the interjection, I came across this thread while checking and fixing some SEO stuff that'd come come undone with the website being offline recently. It's not cool jumping on another manufacturer's thread, however as there was some speculation based on exactly zero experience with an actual Pi-phase (that I can see) I thought it worth a comment or two.

Hey, Mike, thanks for stopping by. No apologies necessary. You're always welcome. (Doesn't seem to be much traffic/interest in this thread anyway. Maybe we can start a Prophecysound thread.)

Yeah, I have no experience with a Pi-Phase, but I have interest. Would love to hear/play one in person.

Glad to hear you'll have some time being freed up. Interested in what you're working on. :snax:

I learned that UG and Chank like the bi-phase.

I hope I will get that divider and tru-tron someday down the road. His q-tron proto was up on ebay for a while (had mods that lead to the q-tron plus, but it was still different) but I was broke. Might have been before I joined ilf.

I hate it when companies by names like mu-tron or Fuzzrite.
