skullservant wrote:I think that's one of the things that I never quite understood about Bass VI's and their trems. I classify a Bass VI as more of a bass than a guitar. I feel like I play extended scale a bit differently than regular guitar. And I just can't wrap my head around the trem system. In my mind it is almost like sticking a trem on a legit 4 string bass, a little bit silly. But I guess if people are using it more in a guitar sense, I understand it a little more. But that's just me. I guess I'm weird with basses having trems haha
I thought it was dumb too but actually I love the trem on my bass vi. Playing deep chords and letting them ring out with some trem action is delicious.

I need more info about this! I read somewhere that the copy for the ad is for a different guitar. It doesn't mention Antigua in it. Really, I want one of these things in Sonic Blue. Actually, scratch that. I just don't want one in Sunburst

Either way, this definitely has my interest and may get a buy from me

This sounds pretty awesome to me... The Jazzmaster bridge/trem on the bass VI makes for some really unpleasant sounds, this might be right up my back alley.

If this had a trem I'd want it.

It's not about using the trem on the VI as much as the stuff that losing it takes away (behind the bridge ebowing, which is glorious on the VI, occasional fills/dives/options from the trem), etc.

I don't even use the trem much on my normal offsets, but if it's not there I get pissy.

Also, no strangle switch. Boo.

No combination of words or concepts has ever made me want an ebow more than this.

It doesn't work as well on a normal guitar, but on the VI, it is glorious.

Yeah, same here.
Something about that jazz trem magic is just beautiful.
I'm also not too fond of the look of the strat output jack.
Love the finish though.

I have the Strat style jack out on my squire VM jag. I love that it is a bitza guitar. I want to replace that weird floating bridge with a tele style bridge. Compete the bitza feel and look.

It was basically 'let's use up the original run of Squier Jazzmaster abortion bodies (which had the jack and that terrible bridge" somehow.

Which coupled with Antigua fits somehow, but I still don't want it as-is.

Yea, it makes me want to put an extra pickup or a piezo behind the bridge though.
