Thought you were gonna say "Rainbow Machine", but tremolo's a good one too. Got that covered with the Randy's Revenge, but still wanna get a MF Trem too.

I have given this much thought over very many years; I've wanted an electric sitar for almost as long as I've been playing guitar.

Personally, I wouldn't use octave fuzz for the drone stuff. Too much intermodulation/scrambling for the complex scales that the resonant strings are generally tuned to. Unless you're doing some tanpura-like drones using roots and fifths, or if you're doing melodic playing, definitely.

Obviously flanger and reverbs/delays if you want extra etherealness. Consider: envelope filters of all kinds to enhance and/or play off of the sitar's unique timbral envelope. Octave pedals, or especially pitch shifting pedals that can do "clean" octave up stuff to enhance its harmonic nature. Or, for evil twin harmonic exploitation, a ring mod.

The Roland Dimension effect in whatever form you can find it in, especially for drone. Imagine the swirling stereo image you'd get.

My loins quiver at the thought of running an electric sitar through a Digitech Space Station.

MXR Blue Box despite what I said earlier.

Basically a shorter list would be effects I wouldn't use on an electic sitar. Are you thinkin of buying one, Chanks?

I've got one. (Used to have more than one, but that's another story.) I'll snap some pics of it tomorrow.

Yeah, friendship, fuzz in general messes with the sitar sound. Totally obscures the "sitariness" of it. Might as well be playing regular guitar.

Octave fuzz is a little different. Makes it stand out a bit more. As I said, I'll have to try it again.

I'll have to try playing with the Xero Deluxe. Not sure I've ever tried that with sitar.

That would be a killer set up to play sitar through.

I just played through some tremolo. Sounds very Sixties sounding. I imagine Vibe would as well.

I actually can answer this question with authority, as I abuse the Coral Electric Sitar in my GR-55 all the time.

You run it into a ring mod, oscillating fuzz, and a Mesa Triple Rectifer model.

It is a GLORIOUS thing.

I got the first two covered, furtkamp. Sadly, no Triple Rec though. I'll have to try to find a pedal to act as a stand in. :thumb:

Yea, I don't have a real one, just using modelled ones.

The thing I need to do is set up the GR-55 into the GT-001 so I can do electric sitar model + sitar synth into the GT-001's electric sitar emulator.

Then just add Nora's suggestion of an EHX Ravish for good measure.
