I think my reasoning for wanting this, and I edited it out of the original post, was since I don't really use modulation all that much, I figured if I WAS going to use it, I'd rather have one box that can do everything instead of a bunch of different boxes. I guess I'd rather have one box that can do a lot of effects that I might not use here and there, than better versions of each separate effect that might do one of the modes better that I might hardly use, if that makes sense.
I AM very overwhelmed by the Mobius, but it's also my first day with it and I think most of the overwhelming feeling is because I'm so new to modulation more than the pedal itself. I had a TimeLine in the past, which I enjoyed the interface of, but got rid of because I missed the El Cap, so the format is definitely familiar to me. I do think it's overkill for how little I use modulation, but I think it'll open my mind up a little bit at least, if nothing else! haha

Like you said you use Flange as like a phaser/vibe/static filter/doubler/short delay, which now I want to try out to see if I can dial it in!
As far as settings go, you should take a look at not only the Mobius manual, but manuals for flangers and other multi-effects units. Obviously, the settings from other effects won't always translate exactly, but should get you in the ballpark and give you some good general guidelines.

I think I'll definitely have to do that. I want to also experiment with trying to get some Comb Filtering going on via flange, especially after hearing Brian's demo of the new SSBS Delay and how short delay times can get that filtering going on.
Was reading a thread on TGP about how someone got a phaser setting in the ballpark of the Whetstone, I'll have to try and dial that in tonight too, cause I loved the Whetstone when I had it.

I LOVE THAT DUDES VIDEOS!
That actually made me change my mind about flangers. I'm actually really excited to experiment with the Flange settings now. YES FLANGER

I had an old DOD Flanger once. I circuit bent it to the point where it could do a bunch of crazy stuff. Then I was going to rehouse it, and broke it by accident. I think thats why I secretly hated flangers

I Love Modulation.
I have never played with a mobius though. We should get together and remedy that. I use a M6 for most mods but my pitch and timefactor can do some wacky modulation.
My favorite is prob. Phaser. I'm listining to Nobody's fault but mine right now though so I might be biased ATM.

Been editing presets for about the past hour. REALLY diving in to the flanger and Destroyer modes, and even screwed around with the harmonic trem and formant modes. Holy crap, SO many sounds, and I'm really starting to make it mine. Haha, an hour spent editing 10 presets so far

Niiice. I really love the strymon boxes, it can be irritating at first but i find it really enjoyable fine-tuning presets and having the ability to tweak a million parameters for each sound.
On the Mobius i thought the harmonic trem was by far it's strongest point. Strymon fucking nailed that sound and there are so many ways to use it. I liked it with the depth low for a really animated kinda clean tone, and it's really cool for turning drones like with an ebow or something into a more interesting layer of sound.
The phaser can do some cool things, i liked that mode too. I forget how i had it set but i remember being pleased with how subtle you could get it to sound, often i find phasers too overwhelming.
Quadrature i felt was not very intuitive but has a lot of potential if you're the sort of person who will modify their playing style to suit an effect rather than applying the effect to an existing playing style.
For some reason the Destroyer felt really weird to me with guitar. Like it sold me in the demo but when i used it i just could not get it to sound good to me.
Overall i sold it because chorus and flanger are the only modulation effects i use frequently and i was underwhelmed by the mobius for those, mainly because the wackier settings on the mobius didn't feel 'right' to me so i stuck to the Boss BF-2 and now use a Polytope for chorus/detune which i couldn't be happier with.
Good luck though, it's an insane box of fun for sure.

Weird. I never realized Blind Willie Johnson used a phaser on that song.

I have zero Mobius experience. But I've come to realize that vibe is crucial. Play around with it both pre and post dirt.

I used to be so in love with chorus, and I searched and searched to find the sound in my head. Turns out that I hate chorus and love flangers!
My usual use for flange to to fatten dirt and give it some teeth -- run it post fuzz with depth and rate at min, just a hair of res, and manual to taste. Try it!
I can see into your future.... there is no Mobius there...
