I've had my 78' Dist+ for 13~ years but my "pedal board" is that and a Tube king to the amp.

i've had my Distortion+ since 1984. it's on and off the board now because when i loop i need the Octave Multiplexer instead.
in a recent thread people were complaining that the D+ didn't work for them, and two possibilities occur to me. 1. maybe i just got a good one 2. there's only one setting i really like the d+ on, which is about 2:00 on both knobs carefully tweezed into place for the optimal tone.

I've also had a DS-1 for about the same length as Derelict. But it hasn't been on my board in a long time.
If you still count it after replacing it to try other options, I've had an MXR big flanger for 3 or 4 years. There were periods of 6 months to a year I didn't have one but I kept going back to it.
If you don't count that, then it would be an Organizer or Sparkle Motion. Both of which I've had in the same spot right next to each other for a little over a year.

My El Capistan has been on my board since October of 2010, hasn't even come close to being knocked off (except the few times I've been tempted by the Timeline).
Although I suspect that I may have had my RRR first, and I've always had an RRR on my board since then (sometimes two) but I've flipped a bunch of them because I've been snared by different snazzy finishes so I don't think that counts.

I think the D+ has a fantastic, classic sound. Don't really get the criticism.

It's a mix of the keenly and Penney pedals mods.goroth wrote:Cool, which mods?Derelict78 wrote:Deffinitly my DS-1. It's been on since I modded it ~5 years ago.
I just started swapping components till I liked the sound. The big one for me was clipping out a diode. Deff. Makes it more of a growly OD.

I agree it takes some messing about with but once you find "the spot" it's great. I think the big thing is people set the dials too high and forget that it's more a OD/fuzz then a distortion in modern terms.dubkitty wrote:i've had my Distortion+ since 1984. it's on and off the board now because when i loop i need the Octave Multiplexer instead.
