Great video, thanks for finding this. it was a little hard to hear the 8 Step controlling the delay time with so much else going on, but there were a lot of interesting sounds. I really want to get an 8 step and/or a broadcast to fuck with the exp controls on the timebender and particle.

Back in the day, when I was a teenager
Before I had status and before I had a pager
I have 0% of this stuff left right now. But yeah, 8 Step was really cool with all EXP and cv stuff. It's a great thing to have laying around, and you have to get creative with it for it to make any sense. Delay was probably one of the least interesting effects to use it with, though...
For the fuck of it, here's the other board that I used along with the Moogertron (each board patched to one of the inputs of the Boomerang):

I've also got an MF Ring, Sunsine Harmonic Decoder and Zvex super seek wah to try out with it if anyone's interested in how these work together.

Super interested in what it does to the harmonic decoder! The MF Ring didn't have too much effect when I used it with the 8 step.

Ah bummer really? This was my main reason for buying it! Not as crazy as the super ringtone or whatever the sequencer ring mod is that zvex make?

I use this with my TimeFactor. I set the time to ms and have it jump around randomly between a few values that are about 16ms or less apart. Gives nice random modulation that occasionally is extreme when it jumps from the lowest to the highest value. Have messed around with it in tempo mode a little bit but it doesn't really do much for me. I have also used it with my Supa Puss which isn't quite as finely controlled, but if you just want to make weird noises it will do the trick. Also love to use it with the Vibrato on the ModFactor and as an arpeggiator with the PitchFactor. Even if you just set it to 8 different tempos that you use you can use it as 8 time presets if you aren't in the standard Play mode (useful for your analog effects).

Totally this^ I'm hoping with the Harmonic Decoder and MF Ring that i'll be able to basically have reliable frequency presets on a device that's really difficult to recall settings on, especially in a live situation.

So my 8 step arrived today, and after an hour of using it with the mf ring it's exactly what I had hoped it is! Just as crazy as the super ringtone, and works amazingly well as a bank of 8 presets. I literally couldn't be happier!
Boatrich did you use a trs or ts cable when you tried it? As the mf ring is cv you have to use a ts, trs probably wouldn't make it do much at all.
I also briefly did a midi sync for the tempo with molten midi whammy playing an arpeggio, splitting the signal out to my seek wah and the mf ring/8 step with various other tone shaping pedals in each chain. It completely overwhelmed me to the point where I had to leave the room before I exploded with excitement!
Once i figure out a way to film it I'll make a demo for sure. Picking up the dd7 from the post office tomorrow and still waiting on the harmonic decoder to arrive from Australia (no dealers in Europe for this pedal!?!!) will report back findings.

I like using the 8 step with Count to Five (especially in Mode 2) and set it to change direction really slowly. Makes for some awesome, weird loops!

Imagine controlling one 8 step with another 8 step that is being controlled by an 8 step.

With a Ring Modulator I imagine you can get an arpeggiated thing going on too, or at least tune it for those notes that don't work so well with what you tuned it to.

DUDE... and then controlling that with a count to five that is in a feedback loop of count to fives.
