Get a 6 string bass. I know everyone's like "oh, they're for assholes and look like shit and I'm a bass purist 4 strings blah blah blah" but they're awesome and you can get hella funky or play some brutal fucking progressive metal and anything in between.

I've been eyeing it every day

Just need to make sure my bills are paid first and I've got my fingers crossed it'll still be around :thumb:

God damn it. I have a huge relevant post to this. To sum it up.

Make sure with Hovercraft that your specific amp can handle bass frequencies. The last thing you want to do is fuck you head up.
Second, 4x10's are where it's at.
Third, used Corvete's , G&L's, MIM Fenders...fuck P basses.

Ok that's basically it. lol. I had a lot more useful info though before.

So what part of the amp could be harmed by bass frequencies? I knew you had to have the right speakers but did not know about the actual amps themselves being harmed.

Probably going 4x10 then adding an a 15 or an 18 later. Really I hope when I get paid that MEC's bass is still around, I've been playing a similar one at practice actually. I'm really unsure as to whether the Hovercraft will perform well or not. Might just sell it and look for a bassman or V4 head

I'm not sure if it would. I was just suggestion you make sure before you try. I mean it's probably fine, but better to be safe.

Very true, I'll be sure to be cautious initially :thumb:

The amp wouldn't be hurt by a bass, it just won't have EQ frequencies (Hi, Mid, Lo) on the amp that are centered to work on bass.
The one issue to be cautious of is that the amp and the bass cab have the same ohms. Bass cabs are either 8 ohm or 4ohm.

I liked what that other guy said about going two 2x10s over one great big 4x10.
Even my avatar b410 with the lightweight neo speakers is a pain to move sometimes.
Plus then at shows you could set it up like faux-stereo or stack em up, or take just one to the coffee house gig... More Options.

Oh, but if that ampeg 410 is still around for a hundred bucks? Swoop in on that shit! If you don't like it sell it for profit.

I also wanna say check out music man basses. You'll probably dig the bongo bass. That is all.
