Thanks guys, you did remind me of some stuff I tried to get into but failed. Cibo Matto, Silver Mt. Zion, Cloud Nothings and Little Dragon all make that list. None of them were bad records by any stretch of the imagination but for whatever reason they really didn't click with me, maybe I hyped them up too much in my mind. I know that was definitely the case with Little Dragon.

Maybe I was whinging for nothing because now that I look back there have been a few things that I sort of got into myself apart from tobacco:

Dave Tipper - Forward Escape
Krusseldorf - Fractal World
HTRK - Psychic 9-5 Club

Everything listed above is pretty low key ambient/downtempo style, I think that is mostly coincidence. Whatever the case I think I'm going to have a good list of stuff to check out.

And the single best thing I've heard released this year is the latest St Vincent album.
All that.

Forgot about that album somehow, I've been fucking loving it lately.

Young Widows' new record is great, Cult Leaders' EP is great. I'm also really proud of the music my band's put out online that we've got coming out as a 7" within the next few months. That's just pride, though. I'm looking forward to Jack White's new one, and I'm sure there's plenty of new jams that will come out this year. Optimism!
