Do you know of anyone that makes a HB sized Jazzmaster pickup?? I've looked around and I can't find much other than a true humbucker sized single coil.
I've also decided since I'm doing the clear LP I'm not gonna stain the body

Rose.
http://www.rosepickups.com/apps/webstore/products/show/3862823Bullock also offers one.
http://www.bullockguitarpickups.com/#!humsizedsingle/cl64I've also heard tell that VVG, Novak, Bill Lawrence / Wilde, and the Duncan Custom Shop will do custom jobs that fit the bill.
I'd also consider the Duncan Phat Staple. Not really JM related in any way other than in my mind.

I'll just interject that any pickup with blades vs poles would be badass on a 12.
On the other hand… Vox pickups RULE on 12s

I was just thinking about that as well. I guess being a blade there is more string coverage than with pole pieces. Makes sense to me!

My first thought had been a Fender XII-style offset-coil pickup like the TVL double neck Jazzmaster thing.
One JM alternative is Novak's for Tele neck position--it's in something like a dogear P-90 housing, while getting the flat/wide coil shape right.
I've always been interested in the wide single coil pickups from Lawrence/Wilde.
Staple pickups ala 50s Gibsons are cool but are pricey as aftermarket. Not that far from Dynasonics, where there are more and more affordable options.

Good thoughts as well! I'd briefly thought of the split pickup for up in the neck, just not sure how it would look and the only one's I've found aren't quite cheap.
Speaking of cheap, gotta stay super pedge to be able to get the neck and hardware

Been thinking on this, and I am fairly sure that I will go with SD Telecaster blades for the pickups. I could always eventually swap it out for something else if I wanted to in the neck position, but I know that I like the DiMarzio blade that I have already so it wouldn't be too far of a stretch... Secondly, at the price point, I can get both pickups brand new for less than the cost of a Lollar Charlie Christian of any sort

Makes economic and sonic sense.
Also, makes me

. No Charlie Christian.

Now, are CC's humbuckers in that they have two coils? Or is it just like a blade single coil?

Pretty sure it's a single coil.

Also got the strap, two packs of strings, and pickups ordered today.
Still on the list:

Neck plate
neck screws
pickguard screws
bridge
knob
potentiometer
output jack
blade switch + screws
I'll be picking that stuff up next week I think
