Only problem is she's a country girl......I know
On top of that she has ear problems and isn't supposed to listen to anything loud
As much as I would like to bring her to expose her to my music some more, I just don't think I'd be able to enjoy the shows the same

My fiancee is a country girl too. She still comes to shows with me sometimes, but they're not her cup of tea. Really, I'm fine with it though. So we don't have the same taste in music, no big deal. We're stupidly compatible in most other ways so I can deal with this.
I dated a girl for a few years way back who had awesome tastes in music, tv, movies etc. We'd go to shows, she even introduced me to some of my favourite bands. That was awesome, but she was less than awesome in many other regards.
You basically just described my life....well with regards to women their taste in music

girlfriend is more into rock-type stuff, alternative but not underground if you guys know what i mean... I'm the more flexible guy of this relationship I guess

but we have been to great shows together and we go to a festival every summer and stuff
for example this summer we're going to see QOTSA together (she can't miss it because Brody Dalle is supporting, but she likes queens too)
I'm not dragging her to shows though, they're not cheap here and I really doubt she'd have a good time... she's had a fair share of shows when she was a teenager, so now she goes for the music, not for fooling around
at the festival, I'm totally dragging her to see The Afghan Whigs, though

So long as the lady likes my music, it's all good.

My girlfriend isn't exactly going to come see some crust band with me but she did take me to QOTSA last fall for my birthday, as well as Melvins and Scion Rock Fest last summer (Municipal Waste isn't normally her cup of tea but by the end of it she was singing along "MUNICIPAL WASTE IS GONNA FUCK YOU UP"), and has expressed interest in Baroness and Torche and Helms Alee if they came to town.
She and I listen to a lot of overlapping bands, we've gone to Black Keys together and I took her to Arcade Fire a couple weeks ago, but I understand when she doesn't have much interest in some of the less melodic and more intense music I'll listen to.
She doesn't judge my tastes at all, which is nice.

I had Tera Melos on in the car the other day and my girlfriend said something to the effect of "since when do you listen to happy music?"

My girl and I share extremely similar music taste. She's enjoyed most every show we've seen beyond Daughters for some strange reason. Tonight we're gonna catch QOTSA and Chelsea Wolfe and she is insanely psyched. For Queens of course. Chelsea Wolfe will be a first for us both, hoping I like her better live than on records.

I get a lot of hipster jokes from the gf and her sisters but no real judgement
I'm trying to be more accepting of her country music, which can be difficult, but she accepts my music
Truthfully, a lot of country music isn't that bad, it's the majority of the people that listen to it that I hate

*edit* I forgot what fucking day it was.
My wife and I were at the minneapolis show last night. I thought she was having a crap time, but it turns out it was just a case of Dead Face Syndrome. Where you are tired as fuck so your face dies to preserve energy for your brain. We talked about it all the way home (which is a long way) and we agree that Nick from Tera Melos is pretty much a guitar god.
Also, they did the best "encore" ever. Nick said "We have one and a half more songs. But if you want more after that, just be stoked, and we'll do two more." and then as they were tuning up for the "encore" he said "Just pretend like we walked off and came back on."
A+ show, would watch again.

Tera Melos are exceptional live

saw them not that long ago here, reeeeally small club, amazing stuff! Love Nick's playing and he was also really funny and nice
"Let's take a selfie, it's my new thing... does it have a front camera? ah well let's make this guy take the photo then"

Also - showed her GY!BE (by playing Lift Your Skinny Fists... on vinyl while she was taking a nap lol), she loves it... THAT feels fucking awesome
there definitely is a high level of good feelings when people you love discover music through you

My wife is into Mumford and Sons too.... but I got her on to Pelican. Brought her to The Melvins when they did that 50 states tour and she didn't like them. She thought Earth was boring when we saw them the last go around, but their set did drag. She did, however, like Acid Mothers Temple. She used to go to shows with me pretty regularly when I was down in Richmond for school though.

My wife and I have about a 5% overlap in musical taste.
Most of the time we're hanging out we listen to classic rock or whatever. I wouldn't expect someone I'm her to be into death metal, power electronics or jazz fusion so it works out well. Sometimes I'm playing what I think is totally unassuming and she's like "this is terrible" but what can you do.... Liking the same bands is not a a requirement....

I've actually caught Tera Melos twice, and my girlfriend was with me once. Both were to see other bands. Maybe I just don't get it, but I was not a fan and neither was she. However, we did get to watch a thirteen year old boy with glasses just FREAK THE FUCK OUT over uh...Nick? Whoever the guitar player is, although they had two when I saw them. Anyway, thirteen year old just getting his mind blown all over the place. My girl likes Maps and Atlases though, and we've seen them twice together. She went to see Coheed with me once, and although she likes their music fine, she's not a fan of mosh pits. I appreciate that she'll give a band a shot, but if there's even a slight chance of a moving crowd, she'll decline. Other than that, there's a few bands that we'll go see. Oh and we saw Darius Rucker last year (free tickets for working at a radio station) and that was fun.

My wife was talking about some indie band she was into from the radio and I thought it was Tera Melos turns out it was Tame Impala. I've never heard either....
