I've had one for about six years now. It has some quirks that really bother me, the biggest one being the way the clean channel seems to top out somewhere between four and six on the dial. Once you get into that range if you try to push it with dirt it makes this weird sagging sound as though there were something seriously wrong with the amp.

That said, even though it seems to top out kindof early it's still loud as hell and easily loud enough for most situations. If you can get it for around $400 it's well worth it. Just make sure you play around with the dirty channel before you decide anything. It's definitely a love/hate it sort of thing. I think it sounds pretty cool

I thought that the Red Knob and Evil Twin's were different amps. Similar circuits, but the Evil Twin had more traditional Fender cosmetics including black knbos.

Fender started producing the Red Knob amps, twins, the Champ 12, the Dual Showman, etc, in the late 80s. In the early 90s they made some changes to the line - champ 12 became the 25, Dual Showman became the Dual Showman SR, and the Red Knob Twin became the Evil Twin
